  1. I don't think you can do video chat with Line, you will need something like skype, tango, or facetime
  2. Koh Samet is very nice for a couple of nights. At night the hotels put tables and chairs on the beach and serve food, there are some cool fire shows also. Inland there are a couple of restaurants and one little bar area. I believe you can still rent atv's and explore around. You certainly would not want to go there for p4p but is a nice place to chill out
  3. deleted because of prior post deletion
  4. I have always like Pattaya Beer Garden for the following reasons: Good food, Beer Garden Burger probably my favorite Beer is cold and very reasonably priced Music is good and not too loud Relaxed atmosphere Great views There have been a few times the food was slow coming out but that was because of how busy the place was, cooks can only turn out so many meals every few minutes
  5. Thanks for the post MM, that place has been on my list to try for a while.
  6. It seems as if the Junta has wised up and decided to collect the money themselves instead of letting the visa run companies get it.
  7. I've been to both and would rate them as a quick cheap fill up. Nice report Evil!
  8. Great review. I've never had a bad meal there, after seeing your pics will be back sooner rather than later :)
  9. I have stayed at The Haven before and enjoyed it. It is not however the quiter part of town, if you want quieter i would suggest North Pattaya. Check for deals in the Holiday Inn, or look to Sabai Lodge and A-1
  10. The Shell station on Pattaya Tai has been shit for years! There are two on Thepprasit almost right next to each other. PTT where you have to watch them as well, and MP gasoline. MP service is a lot better, some say the gas is not as good but i have been running it for years and never known a difference
  11. I agree, i have lived in Thailand for over 11 years and i don't have an accountant. I have filed as an ex-pat, they have my USA mailing address, my Thailand mailing address and my email add yet they never send any notifications on changes in tax laws for ex-pats. That said when big brother wants to send his long arm across the pond and slap the shit out of us for some money he is going to get paid, with a "ignorance is no excuse" attitude. Gotta love ole Uncle Sammy
  12. Idefix... i think your post kind of contradicts itself. You have stated that a pcx is classed as a bigger bike therefore subject to a more expensive fee for parking. That means you are paying more for a bigger bike to park which is proportionate to its size! ksr 20 baht, pcx 40 baht, harley or goldwing 100 baht I was just stating what the logic may be behind it from a business stand point. I have a pcx 150 but never do paid parking in the tourist traps
  13. I understand the logic behind it, the pcx being a tad wider could result in a few less smaller bikes able to park when they fill up. But you're talking probably the extra width of at least 5 pcx's to make up for one smaller bike like a ksr or msx. Basically B.S. Interested to see how MM's experiment comes out!
  14. When i was a tourist once i started staying on soi 13 i never stayed anywhere else
  15. Wow, i can't believe Sandy Spring has been around that long already that rooms need to be refurbished. I remember staying at The Haven when the first pile for SS went in, right outside my window. Had to move to soi 8 for some quiet...lol. How time flies!
  16. Power Buy has various air filtration units but not sure about Humidifier. May a pharmacy like Fascino may have or can order for you.
  17. Looks like a nice place for the price. Good luck with the rental!
  18. No i meant 18,000 Baht. That is what he paid. The rims are bigger and wider with a much higher quality tire. I think however there are cheaper bike shops which would make it a much more viable option
  19. A friend of mine did on his pcx 150. He got them at Mai Tai bike shop on soi buahkhao. I think about 18,000 baht. He says it is a better ride, more stable and the bike handles better.
  20. I remember years ago doing a border run with just me and a friend. We took off in his truck and programmed the gps for Aranya Prathet / Poi Pet border crossing. Was the fastest and most enjoyable visa run i had ever done. I don't do them anymore but if i did have to for some reason i would definitely drive myself.
  21. My father comes to visit me once a year. he has never done anything other than top up as needed when he is here and his number is always good. Credits should be good for 1 year
  22. LAX has been in need of a facelift for a long time. Nice to see it is finally getting one, Like above poster said it won't be complete until Taco Bell is in the Barrio!

    Steroids

They are illegal here in Thailand. There has been a big crackdown on the pharmacies that have been selling them. There are some that still sell them but you will have to look around a bit and don't be surprised at some of the looks you may get when asking for them.
