I'm with you on that one, i hibernate for that week -
Steve the major owner of Sportsman took over the Robins Nest. I don't know which partners if any he brought in or if he still has anything to do with The Sportsman. Dave is the main day to day guy.

Yes if the price is all inclusive then that is more acceptable -
Nice review Gabor. I have been to the Sportsman many times over the years but never thought about them for ribs, will have to pop in and give them a go.

British pensioners arrested and detained in Pattaya
cbrib replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Definitely. This is a special kind of stupid. Rounding up seniors for their cards as an excuse because they weren't gambling. If memory serves me correct, last year or the year before didn't Bangkok host the ASEAN Bridge championships -

Glad they busted them. Pattaya is a much safer place now with those outlaw miscreants off the streets -
Wow guys talking about Blackout, that brings back some memories. A few years ago i ran into the ex mamasan from there, she worked in Champion for a few months. Speaking of the big tree, i really miss Saloon Pizza

When i did mine last week sitting in front of counter 4 there was a very visible display for what number they were on. Fortunately for me it said 495 and i was 496 :) -
How about just answering the question? Photos can be misleading especially as some have a difficult time distinguishing between LB's

I just booked a room in BKK using Agoda
cbrib replied to Chester007's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I'm confused! You used the link from here or you didn't? Interested because i always use agoda to book a room in Bkk -
Many of the restaurants have service staff that know enough english to understand : no Sa picy! In regards to the egg and Thai restaurants, food carts especially the aharn dtam sang places, you can say kai dao dip. You should get it nice and runny

I think it is more like Thailand, especially here in Pattaya, does not have the interest. They make a bust or two to make the news and they look good, like they are against prostitution and doing something about it. Also a tool to line their pockets. After a 100 baht fine is paid they have done their jobs and release the lovely welcomers of the coconut bar back into the wild to do theirs. Almost quid pro pro

opening a bank account in Pattaya?
cbrib replied to loveless's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I also have an account with K Bank and have noticed a change for the worse. My K web shopping card has more restrictions and is being accepted less. It is not my major account. Krung Thai is and i have been very happy with them for over 12 years now. I can't think of one bank that will issue a foreigner an actual credit card -- not a atm debit card-- but a real visa card with their name on it with out a work permit or a retirement visa with a proven acceptable monthly income. I have no idea what that number is, maybe other Bm's can post on that. I have an AMEX card issued in the U.S. -
Finally had to dump 3BB. Just too unreliable. I know others that are happy with but it wasn't working for me. They kept insisting the problem was in my house and wanting to sell me 5000 worth of cable to run a new ugly line through the house. I switched to True and it has been much better. Had to occasionally reset the router during the heavy rains but that's about it

I've heard Chang beer is going from 6 to 5.5% alcohol
cbrib replied to Chester007's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Funny how we all have different tastes in beers. If Singha were the only beer available in Thailand I would never touch another beer again. On a flight from Utapao to Phuket i asked for a beer, the guy said Singha, i said no a beer. He said only have Singha so i ordered an oj. Leo maybe part time, prefer Chang many times over to both but SML is still my usual -

I have seen in a few Facebook groups there is some winging about the new Chang. It is not about the alc% but the taste is a bit weaker. Also smaller bottles and cans being 320 ml instead of 330 ml. -
If it is true that would be a shame. Always liked that market and the non hi-so bowling alley upstairs. It is also the only GNC store i know of in Pattaya, hopefully they will relocate
