  1. I stayed at The Haven back in 2002, the first pilings for The Sandy Spring went in right outside my window. I had to move to soi 8 for quiet...lol. Nicely run hotel though.
  2. Thsnks for the info. My kodi has not been working on my androis phone or my mini x box. Will give the above a try. Seems Kodi is an equal opportunity hater
  3. I was there Wednesday evening and had the cheeseburger slider, they were passable. Beer was fine. Service was pretty slack but it was pretty quiet as well. Overall good ambience and a decent hangout
  4. You may have an app that is running in the backround that uses the internet such as location. I use 12 call top up and have a pay as you go data plan as well. I leave mobile data on. It defaults ti wi-fi when available but will only accumulate data when apps are used, not in stand-by
  5. Just had a ride down there yesterday, they have done about the exact piss poor job of it you would expect. Still plenty of pot holes and craters
  6. I love the Sea Side. Great food for the money and one of the few places that is still old school Pattaya, not the posh posh fru fru that seems to be popping up every other week
  7. I always like sitting at PBG and chillin out. I haven't eaten there in a while but i never had a bad meal there and the missus always liked the Thai food.I am not a crtitc nor would i expect even 4 star food there, will have to have a looksee for myself soon
  8. I was surprised that the Thai men didn't open up the can of whop ass on them, then again the guy had his hands full with the girl
  9. I would think they would have malt vinegar. Despite the name the town is loaded with Brits, would just make sense. Anyway i will be in to try the philly cheese steak soon vinegar or not.

    Oops

I hate it when that happens!
  11. On 3rd rd going south from Pattaya Tai on the left just before soi regional land is a southern Thai place. They do really good curries, the missus likes the gaeng phet from there. Just on the corner is a decent size food plaza, could be worth a look there as well
  12. Nice review Evil. I need to try this place as it is close to my house. The atmosphere inside looks so sterile i keep passing the place and head to Mikes which is usually hit but can be miss at times. I like the idea of the take away burrito too
  13. Thanks for the report and pics Rhino. The missus has been wanting to go up there for camping. We'll definitely need to fly in as she'll never survive the curves of the road
  14. Thanks for the great report and pics. I have been meaning to go up there and check it out, will do sooner than later
  15. Yeah living here ain't so cheap anymore. I seem to be bleeding money every month and i hardly go out. There comes all the little things not included in monthly expenses. Insurance, tax and registration and maintenance on vehicles, birthdays. For married guys like me there comes wifes birthday, anniversary, and mothers day for us having a kid.. Kids birthday and of course some medical expenses and school. For ex=pats it more often than not comes down to a lot more than just how much for food, rent, utilities and short times.
  16. Really? Shows how much i get to LK as not a fan. I just remember going in there the second night it opened with a friend. Next thing i heard about the place was he asked me if i remembered that place and said it had closed. Guess i lost track of the timeline
  17. The fact is that HIV does exist and people have had it go into full blown AIDS and have died from it. I had a friend of mine try to justify it by saying how many people all over the world get bitten by mosquitoes and how many actually get HIV, Dengue fever, or Malaria from it. I got Dengue so i am not a big subscriber to that. Sure i believe you stand a much better chance if catching HIV from sharing hypodermic needles than unprotected sex but is it really worth potentially your life? That is something one should ask themselves. We have all probably done some drunk and stupid things mongering
  18. I don't remember Byblos being a gogo. i did however get a st upstairs in the bathroom :)
  19. I used to go visit Lek at his bar in the back and i don't remember it being open very long. Are you thinking of the Blue Lagoon that was in Centre Condo for sometime?
  20. The Blue Lagoon in the back of Best Friends Complex was a pretty short stint. There was another one on WS i believe it was called Angels and was at most a bowling alley wide. I think they lasted about 3 weeks. Not sure how long Submarine in LK lasted but wasn't long either
  21. This didn't have to do with the mafia so much as the government busting drivers because there cars were not registered properly for commercial use and lack of proper licenses. Although i do find it funny that the regullar airport taxi services that are popular aren't getting picked on
  22. How do Uber prices compare with Grab Taxi?
  23. Great list. To add, at the bungy jump there is also a sling shot, go karts and an atv dirt track. The go karts off of bali hai. Pattaya shooting range, Art in Paradise in North Pattaya is a nice couple hours walk through and photo op, some great stuff to be seen there, fantastic 3D murals. Hope this helps
  24. On my very first time in LOS i met a guy who gave me this advice. When it comes to foreigners in this town be very careful, either their countries don't want them or they want them really bad!
