  1. Try looking around soi 17 especially past 3rd rd. Lots of Thai apartments in the 2500 - 5000 range.
  2. Try learningthai.com. There is also thai-language.com. Learn Thai Podcast and High Speed Thai are also very good programs. If you are already here a simple phrase book will probably be enough.

  7. Russian tourists are good for two things: 7/11 beer sales or the rich ones feeding the Russian gogo scene. Oh yeah and their tour buses clogging up traffic
  8. Have to agree with Biggles. Wonderful 1,2, and Bodega are all worth a look. Just up from there is a bar called Meeting Place, not sure if they still do live music but used to be pretty good.

  13. Kikos, i see you are new to the board and i'm guessing english may not be your primary language. A few more details though would be helpful or maybe a link to the developers page so bm's can see what you are offering. Look at the Pattaya, Jomtien skyline, those were all imaginary condos at one point :)

  15. I always stay at Chaweng Beach Resort. It is farther down the beach and quiet. I get the superior bungalow which is 2500 baht but they do have rooms cheaper. Al's place is on the beach just up from Green Mango and is also nice.
  16. Not sure what time you have been going there, no place is full from open until close. It does a fair lunch trade and a solid evening trade. Also contracts with Door to Door and WOW contribute to a successful business. The location is bad for casual traffic?? How can being in South Pattaya between Pattaya and Jomtien, right on the baht bus route with less than a 200 meter walk to the restaurant, with a big sign on Theppraya Rd, 4 minutes from walking street, and decent parking be a bad location? Mikes business has increased since he moved off of Theppraya to the smaller soi 5. An owner willing to work the internet and do a bit of local advertising would certainly be able to contribute to what is an already very successful restaurant.

  18. With the number of Chinese tourists that are visiting Pattaya these days they could drop 25% and you really wouldn't notice it . Plenty of them on Walking Street last night and no shortage of buses clogging up traffic

  21. Thai or foreign name? Is this including any built ins or furniture package? When is the approximate completion date? ?
  22. The political situation looks like it will get worse before it gets better. The Thais have no understanding of what democracy really is just as neither side understands the difference between peaceful, legal protests, and local terrorism. No one has a crystal ball so my advice is book your ticket as an open ticket or a fully refundable ticket. Still lots of time before you arrive, hopefully things will be calm by then!

  24. Nenas is the only one i know of. The owners have been in Patts for about 10 years. They also have a salsa dancing studio upstairs and teach at a few different venues at night during the week.
