It's actually 2 billion clock cycles a second. Few if any programs I know of can complete anything other than basic math in one clock cycle. That doesn't invalidate your post about one bug though.

I've found a lot of times with these problems, you may be looking at something as simple as dust bunnies. Not to disparage your house keeping, but have you cracked it open and checked the heatsinks/fans for anything that could be blocking their thermal dissipation? Also, you may want to run memtest and see if you have a stick of RAM (or two) going out. I have a laptop that freaks out on me and it turned out that it was fairly notorious for the so-dimms to pop out of their sockets. Damn Clevo. Futher down, I read that you're also having graphical anomalies, maybe this problem stems from the video card going bad, or perhaps as previously mentioned the power supply. If you have a video card that requires more power than the AGP or PCI-E slot can provide, it will have a suplementary connector. I wouldn't be surprised if this machine, if bought in Pattaya, would have a rinky-dink PSU in it. If you can afford it, buy a quality one, with PC Power and Cooling being my reccomendation. Alternatively, as a side note to what others are suggesting, you may want to reboot into safe mode and run your scans from there. Another oldey, but goodey, is to go under your msconfig tab and disable startup items. Reboot and selectively re-enable them till you find something that is making your stuff crap out.

Welcome to the board. As Braveheart pointed out, if you enjoyed Bangkok that much, you'll be enchanted with Pattaya. But please remember to pace yourself, cause it's all to easy to go overboard. In retrospect, no it's not. You'll get plenty of rest once you get back to work and start planning your next trip!

Since I've never had dealings with the Ruskie Mafia, I'll just relate about the girls. While they cast glances at me, it's not too annoying, because I usually have a Thai bird on my arm. Plus there's not enough of them to cause problems, IMHO. Finally, like I said, they are just looking at me, not agressively pursuing me (unlike the kateoys!).

I don't think there's any bias toward Indians. However, my first trip I stayed in the Marriot. Every night, as I'd try and make my way down to Walking Street, there was always the same Indian Tailor that would stick his hand out, try to obstruct my path, and other things to get me to spend my money in his shop. While I appreciate the fact that he's trying to make a living, I work in Iraq and have no need for nice tailored clothes. I tried to explain, but don't know what it was about me. So I took to walking across Beach Road, passing by his shopping and crossing again. A few days of this and I said to myself, "What the hell, this is my vacation". So that night I made a point of walking, slowly, past his stall. As he attempted to stop me, I let him give his spiel, and said, "Yes, your stuff does look nice". I than asked if his clothes were stuff he made to which he replied "Yes". Bingo, had him. Asked him to turn around so I could see the rear. Once his fleshy asscheeks were withing reach, I grabbed a big handful of each and said, "Wow, the quality IS top-notch". Needless to say, no more bother from him!

Oy still has my heart, although I am not sure the feelings are returned. The thing I've noticed watching both of them is that it seems Oy puts forth more effort and seems to sing all the songs whilst she's up there. The new one seems to allow the band to sing songs for her and just be eye candy.

I'll second the Don Joe's recommendations. Last night Keith and I had the Pepper Steak, and was WELL worth it. I didn't know they closed at midnight and walked in to the resturant itself about 30 sec after. They still delivered to FLB and I made sure to compensate them for working late for the falang maow.

Welcome to our board. I also am a member of the other board, unless there are multiple phuket boards. Can't have too much info. I usually stay at the Marriott, it's got a great location and the BG love it, but a bit pricey for the alternatives. Getting around is no problem, even if it is bigger than Patpong-I would just recommend getting a LT girl and use her as a guide. I'm in FLB every night make MM a rich man . Just look for the youngish Yank with a baseball cap.
