That artical is so full of shit it is pitiful, I really wonder what kind of investigation they actually did. Definatly goes to show you you can't believe every story you hear or read. We all know stuff like that happens in Pattaya and everywhere else for that matter. I think you are much safer here than in the USA. I mean if i had to make a choice i would feel much safer with the Thai BG than an American street walker, or a prostitute from any country for that matter. What a shame that reckless reporting should ever exist. I also saw a report on sixty minutes about prostitution in Thailand and

Seems a little odd that customs would wait till they reached the car park before aproaching them. This smells like a scam to me. Also I think the fine is 50 baht per ciggerette 400X50 = 20,000 but i can't be sure of the 50 baht per cig thing.

Koh Samet, I loved it found a place in low season for 500 a night no Aircon, no hot water. beaches are fantastic had one strech to my self, all day. Looked like a few places to find a new friend or two but very limited I would BYOBG. Mesquitos can be really bad at times, bring some repellant. Not a good day trip from Pattaya, but very nice for an overnight trek.

just about what I would guess as well. 6B per unit seems a little high, seems a year ago most guest houses were about 5. Keep track of the meter readings, also take a look at the wheel with everything unplugged, make sure you aren't paying for some one else. I knew a guy that lived in a 20 meter place and never ran the A/C and his bill was 3,000, seems there was more than his place on the meter.

First few times to Thailand I booked on-line, thought I was getting a real bargan. Later I found a better deal from a local travel agent, and the advice about seating and scheduels was free. The agency I used was a consolidator which means they are a wholesale agency. You would think that booking online would be cheaper with the lower operating cost, thats what they like for you to think. Shop around look in the newspapers, look on-line and call the agents, could save you alot....

Bagwan, are you stupid or something. I was just trying to be nice. You blow your horn about that boat all the time. Idiot I was just giving you some credit

Question about Travellers Cheques Please?
wrassell replied to tull's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I have been here for four years and my weapon of choice is the good ole ATM card from my home country. I keep three of them handy in case one gets damaged or stolen. The exchange rate is better than at the money changers by about one baht, it adds up in time. Unless you have a werd bank you shouldnt have a problem using your ATM card. As per some of the other comments you should have some sort of back up you never know. As a last resort there is Western union but they are a big rip off..... -
Thanks Walt I was always cerious about the glass bottom boat that they rave about, they make it sound much better than that. I have heard from other scources that it is kind of a joke, and well for 200 baht it sounds like the price is a little steep as well. Taking the ferry for twenty baht and getting a songtao for another 20 or 30 over to the beach works out to 100baht both ways hmmm

cost of the speed boat for hire depends mainly on the size of the boat, if going with just you and your Telac then hire a smaller boat about 1200B the large boats will run 2500 but will carry 20 people. I go on the Ferry for 20 baht each way, then a song taow for 30 baht to samae beach motor bike is 50. here is a website kohlarn website maybe bagwan will take us all out there on his personal watercraft that he owns

The following is just a theory of mine and I have absolutely nothing to back this up with, so you be the judge. Here is the theory, when you take stuff to a postal service, from there I think some of it never makes it to the real government post office to be sent out. You have paid them, the service, to send the package on your behalf but then the postal service has to pay the post office postage to finally get your package sent off. If your package never gets to the real post office then they, the service, can save a lot of money, also if something you are sending appears to have value th

Any direct bus from BKK airport to Pattaya
wrassell replied to phantomtiger's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
You might have asked them about a certian place and they may have asumed you wanted to hire them as a taxi. look for a baht bus that they are filling up with people, they don't usally leave until the bus is full because of the distance.... -
Any direct bus from BKK airport to Pattaya
wrassell replied to phantomtiger's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I catch a taxi meter to Morchit bus station about 100Baht (unless they take the long way for more fare) the bus from Morchit to Pattaya something like 120Baht. Many baht busses at bustation in Pattaya cost is 20 baht to the beach.... -
Urgent Help Required about visa
wrassell replied to Kleyshay's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I tried to come here with a one way tickett and no visa, and they wouldn't let me board the plane until I purchased an onward tickett, I lost about a hundred bucks because of the refund fee. I was sittin in a bar and this one guy that knows just about everything there is to know told me I could come here with a one way tickett with no visa in hand. He told me he had done it many times before with no problem at all, he went on to say just show them you intend to spend lots of money and they will just wave you through. when the fact of the matter is they will not even let you board the plan -
I have never seen a real pair of levis in Thailand except the ones I brought over four years ago, I have seen some pretty good copies. Went to an outlet mall one evening pretty classy place and iI asked to see some and when I looked and felt them they weren't even close I know levis I have worn them all my life. The sales lady assured me they were authentic even showed me a poster on the wall that said she was an authorized agent. I heard that Levi Strauss co has boycotted Thailand but that is just hear say. I wouldnt mind paying regular US price for real Levis or even more but I still have ye

ha ha ha I stopped and I feel great too,,,,,just thought I would rub it in...I have noticed how some 7-elevens have then stowed away. Here in Thailand they seem to be serious about helping people either stop or not start...like stowing them out of sight and putting those nasty images on the outside. In California they treat smokers like shit and charge the shit out of them with taxes. The state of California collects big money from smokers they said it is to cover the extra medical cost incurred by smokers what a bunch of horse shit that is. I smoked for 30 years and they never paid any of my

Urgent Help Required about visa
wrassell replied to Kleyshay's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
before your 30 days is up just go down to imigration fill out the form pay 1900 Baht and they will give you another 10 or 15 days I forget which one. Where ever you go just ask around about where the Imigration office is located, shouldn't be too hard to find. Don't overstay your visa not because of the 200 Baht a day thing but if you are caught before you reach the airport they will throw your ass in jail and believe me you won't like it. I wouldn't even let my visa expire by one day if I were you, even if it cost 1900Baht for one day extra. If you get to the airport it is no problen and the -
Air fares during the summer months go up for American traveliers. Now is the best time to come to SEA both weather and cost. As far as getting used to the heat it really depends on you. In the summer you learn that shade is your best friend, fans help alot and swimming is a great way to beat the heat. Be careful of too much alcahol very easy to over indulge and get dehydrated, be sure to drink plenty of water. The weather now is very plesant, cool nights and then cool most of the day. Some will say it is better to come in low season because lower cost of most everything, and better pickin

Sounds pretty expensive to me too, about 150 a day i could have alot of fun on that kind of money. I could get a nice room and eat very good for under fourty a day, the rest would go towards wine women and song. Most of the fun is learning the ropes.

Try Google After three visits you never seen the beach, if youre in Pattaya it can't be too far. Pretty lame question. It would be a bit easier just to go see the beach for your self.

literally, well almost I did come out for a planned 40 days the second time I came out here. The thought of getting on that plane bound for California dosn't appeal to me much.... cold, foggy, rainy, or tropical I'll stay right here. thank you very much.

There is a shooting range on the island Koh Larn. the website http://www.kohlarn.com tells you how to get to the island but not much about the shooting range. Ask any taxi on the island and they can take you directly to the range for 20 or 30 baht. The island is a great day trip away from the city and dosn't cost very much to get there, I go about twice a month....

I came to Pattaya 3 years ago for 3 weeks I'm still here.

I wouldn't worry about her and what people think, but what about you, can you stand it. I mean it is like being a kid in a candy store. I have seen many guys with a western wife in tow some of them look very hungry walking past the bars. Have fun.
