There's a race on at bang phra ,the other side to the zoo,on the 19th nov if anyone wants some fun,it's a hard course though.numchai and LA bike shops have entry forms,[in thai] It's got A-B-C-grades up to over 50s,[thats me]as well as, kids and celebrity races and a nice area next the lake ,and near the course is a very good playground . something pattaya has not got. If anyone wants to go for a HARD training ride ,with the snakes, mud ,creeks,and bush and the sand and gravel,and the thais walking around with the shotguns shooting birds, they are welcome if you can go after 9am and back by 3pm, for up to 2. 1/2 hrs.any weekday but do'nt forget the water bottle, insur,mobile,and the cab fare home. have a GO. . email me for my mobile catsmad@yahoo.co.uk PAUL

JAN had a customer[no names] the otherday meet him outside custums as usual,they walked to the car only to be nabbed by customs [too many cigs] 5 pks instead of 2,hand cuffs and all. the person did not declare ,the question is why did they not check the bagage before , they must have more video surv even more so now,and the give away was i think the duty free bag he had them in. he was fined 13,000bath and they took the cigs of course.and they do not deal with it at the airport they take you into bangkok to process it ,whick took 4 hrs, jan tried for an under the table sling but they would not cop it.[honest ones?] lucky she could interpret for him,and they hurried it up for them cause she said she had to get home to feed the baby. i heard before they were clamping down on what ever comes in and whats allowed but this is the 1st one caught i know of, anyone shed more light on this one? he may put something on forum ,if not, i would like to thank him for looking after jan and keeping cool.......as we know the more you get upset with them the slower they go. AH, but it's still worth coming here. paul

behind Thepprasit condos ,thepprasit rd ,where they have the markets every fri,sat,sun,night,you can play there and cool off at the simming pool next door.they also teach kids,they have 2 good courts. paul

Hi yes that date is OK. and there is a course, 18 holes ,20mins away from pattaya,if you decide to do that. He had all the things you all suggested, pharmacy,doctor,for 3days,and it was the doc who took him there. the point i was trying to get across,was be prepared, there are alot of blokes out there who come here on a shoe string,and yes it is their fault ,if their not insured, this comes up at the expats all the time .overpaying we don't mind paying just don't like it when they go overboard, the result of the test said insect bite [mossy].not dengy]. good luck boys. paul

Just a little warning if you don't have full or any insurance . a mate checked into the hospital cause he was dizzy and weak [he had a virus]. he was in for 30 hrs, the bill was 35,000 baht,[ the room 2,700] they first take of you, when you ckeckin either 20,000 cash or visa,and if it dose not come to 20,000 they give you the diff, when i asked for the list of what he had done it took 10 min,to print it off, its seems they gave him everything, needed or not 3 or 4 times. when paying the bill there was someone else querying a 70,000baht bill for a cat scan for the same amount of time,and he could not pay,[not enough money]with guards around him. i spoke to someone whos been coming here for 40yrs and he said the queen surakit hospital at sartahip has as good a doctor as you get ,and are very very cheap, and look after farang. i have noticed one thing since i have been living here, if you go to who ever you come out rattling,they give you so many pills. paul

I started using the 1st ever time cslox dail-up ,but i got the guy at the shop to sign me in.as there were no clear instructions on it and to show me anyway.it wasn't too bad,when it run out, i change to [true] very easy instructions,no probs, never busy. when that run out i gave cslox another go ,the worst thing i ever did . too hard to sign in,and when i did always busy,and if you ring their help line they never anwser,so i went back and got true,and i am back on line all the time, [no probs, two Q whats the best one[dail-up] anyone out there has used in pattaya? A nd some times when i try to send email O,S.it says i need a 128 bit i think for sercuity,but dial up i think doses not have 128 bit . any ideas or help ? There is another ..the euro badmiton club ,its got a gym big swimming pool and a big court area,and club house,they like to sweat here so i don't think it's air con. It's a little way out of town off sukumvit, and left into chaiyapruk no2.and left again follow the signs. good luck.lostinspace

Hello again, just discovered another of the little twists that make this place so fascinating. It appears that new cars are given a set of red plates initially until the new white ones arrive. This means that there are certain restrictions placed on the vehicle.....such as, not being able to drive it at night. This you might expect to be a restriction on a new driver,...not a new car. If the driver is a formula 1 racing driver...same same, this would almost imply that it is the car who is responsible for any accidents and not the driver. This now means that any night time pick ups would have to be done in our slightly older Hyundai sedan ( as this car knows it's way through bangkok better at night than the new one and is less likley to have an accident or get into any trouble!!???). The price for night trips in the Hyundai therefore is 1700bht all inclusive, untill the new plates arrive. Day trips in the new car are still 2000 all inclusive.
