  1. Hi Gooner You can register by sending me an email with your handicap, nationality and shirt size. Just send to sales@solargolf.co.uk and I will be pleased to sign you up. You can pay for the golf days when you get to Pattaya. I will post all the prices in a few days - I am just waiting for a few items to complete the costings. We will be at the FLB on Sunday 1st November or you can come to our office on Pratamnuk Hill. Cheers Doggie
  2. Thanks Elway. I have you booked in for RideHer and Babydolls. Looking forward to some great golf days and drinking nights!
  3. Got your entries and confirmed BV and Elway. Still a few places left but selling out fast!
  4. Thanks Hilly. I have a record of the entries and there were 48 players so your result sounds right to me. I think Pete made a video of the 2005 event so that should confirm the result. Doggie
  5. I can confirm that the USA won in 2005 but I don't have the score on this computer. I will try to check the archives to see if I can find the exact result. 2004 was halved but Europe won on a putt out in the FLB Bar! I think it is fair to record this as a tie. Looking forward to this year's event - 36 entries so far. Doggie
  6. Hi Bazza I have you 3 entered as per your email. The entries are up to 34 now so there is still a slot for Bill. Cheers Callum
  7. We have 32 entries so far for the RideHer Cup. There are still 16 places left so keep those entries coming in. Doggie
  8. Thanks for the entry Neil O. We can only give a maximum handicap of 28 for men. Hope this is OK for you. Cheers. Doggie
  9. I can confirm they are fully operational. We are one of their agents in the UK and our UK GM processed a booking as normal today. Like most travel companies, they have to pull the web site down from time to time to upgrade the booking engine. There were some changes in taxes this week so this might explain the outage. Doggie
  10. Thanks for your understanding Prorose. Plenty of little prizes to catch later when you want to play extra holes!
  11. Thanks Prorose I will enter you for all the competitions. I guess you know that a pro is not eligible for prizes in amateur competitions so please let me know if this is a problem for you. In the RideHer you are fine as a team player and same in the Scramble. You can play for fun in the Stabelford competitions and maybe your playing partners will benefit from your advice. All the best. Callum
  12. Thanks Frosty. Can you post a few pictures of last year's event to whet the appetitites of our players? You did a great job and it will be fun to have you aboard this year! Doggie
  13. The RideHer Cup is already a Pattaya legend and it forms the nucleus of a 2 to 3 week programme of fun golf events. This post contains details of what's happening during the October/November golf festival so that you can plan your holiday around the events. With Loy Krathong falling on Monday 2nd November, we have decided to move the RideHer Cup from its traditional slot of first Monday in November. This has had an impact on the programme so here is the first draft: Friday 30th October - an informal practice day at Burapha to warm up for the RideHer Cup. Sunday 1st November - registration evening for the RideHer Cup and all the other events at the golf festival. We will also be handling registrations at our office before and after this date. Monday 2nd November - 3 clubs and a putter competition. Wi came up with the idea of a fun event where players can only carry a selection of 3 clubs and a putter. 2 person teams competing in a stabelford better- ball format. We will book a course near to Pattaya and hold the prizegiving early. This will give the players plenty of time to celebrate Loy Krathong. Tuesday 3rd November. Steve O has asked me to remind everyone that it is Melbourne Cup Day! We will find a venue to watch the race. In the evening, we will meet at FLB for the Captains to announce the RideHer Cup teams. Wednesday 4th November. RideHer Cup Day. This is the eighth year and the format is well known to many of you. We have booked Burapha A and B course for a 10.30 tee time off two tees. Transport will depart this year from Central Pattaya at 0900. The prizegiving and party will take place in FLB in the evening. Friday 6th November. The Misty's Open. Individual Stabelford Competition. I am still looking at the venues. I am playing Eastern Star this weekend so we will go ahead with them if the course is in decent condition after their work on some of the greens. Sunday 8th to Wednesday 11th November. A 3 night road trip with two rounds of golf. The suggestion is to go to Soi Dao Highlands on the Sunday and stay 2 nights. Play golf on Monday and Tuesday and then transfer to Koh Samet for one night. Return to Pattaya on Wednesday late afternoon. We can also visit the Casino in Cambodia if anyone is interested. Please post here with your views on this trip. Thursday 12th November. Baby Dolls Texas Scramble. 4 man team Scramble/Ambrose at Siam Plantation followed by a party at Baby Dolls. Week commencing 16th November. I will arrange 3 golf days this week. If there are enough people still in town I can run a couple of competitions during these days. That's where we are in the planning right now. This post will be updated with more details including prices over the coming months. Please post any feedback here and let us know which events interest you. Doggie
  14. The Rideher Cup 2009 is open for entries! Possibly the greatest golf event in Asia, this prestigious tournament is in it's 8th Year. This matchplay event pitches Europe's finest golfers against the cream of the USA. Mix in a few Aussies and Kiwis, blend with a Thai or two and you have a field of the world's greatest golfers! The event is delicately poised with 3 victories each to Europe and USA and 1 draw. Last year's event was a real thriller with Europe fighting for a "come from behind" draw in the last match This year's event will take place on Wednesday 4th November at Burapha. Full details about the event are on this web site. Entries will be limited to 24 for each team so get your name down fast. To enter, post the following here on the board: Your board name, handicap, nationality and shirt size. Then send me an email to sales@solargolf.co.uk with your full name and your email address. I will then add you to the circulation list for more information about the event. The cost will be around 3,700 baht including: Green fee Caddy fee Buggy - 1 per player Transport Prizes Souvenir polo shirt Food and party at FLB on 3rd November. We will be holding a Captains selection evening at FLB on Tuesday 3rd November around 8.30 pm. This is where the captains select the pairings and order of play! I look forward to a full turnout for the 2009 RideHer Cup. Get those entries rolling in! The RideHer Cup will be part of a 3 week programme of golf activities including a road trip to Soi Dao departing Pattaya on Sunday 8th November. You can find details about the programme in a separate post. Doggie
  15. I will be posting full details about the RideHer Cup and the November golf festival programme within the next week or so. I am waiting to get the OK from the golf courses that we want to book before I can publish the venues and prices. I will be aiming to keep the prices as close to last year as I can. Right now, here is a draft programme: Friday 30th October - Practice day for RideHer Cup Sunday 1st November - Registration evening for the RideHer Cup and golf festival Monday 2nd November - a fun 3 clubs and a putter competition followed by Loy Krathong celebrations. Tuesday 3rd November - captains announce RideHer Cup teams and match-ups Wednesday 4th November - the 8th RideHer Cup competition followed by party at FLB Friday 6th November - Individual Stabelford competition sponsored by Misty's a GoGo. Party at Misty's in the evening Sunday 8th November to Wednesday 11th November - Road Trip - 3 nights and two rounds of golf. This year we are considering either a trip to Soi Dao Highlands with an excursion to Koh Chan or a trip to the River Kwai. Return late Wednesday afternoon. Thursday 12th November. Baby Dolls Texas Scramble - 4 player team event. Once I know how many of you will be staying into the 3rd week in November I will set up more golf days and possibly additional competitions. Watch this space for more information. Doggie
  16. Hi Dave. Sorry for the delay. I flew back to the UK yesterday so i have just got on to the board. You will have a place in this year's competition because you have already posted that you want to play. I will be posting the entry details when I get back to Pattaya and book the course. Please check back at the end of June and it should be live. Hi Steve When will you arrive in Pattaya? There are a number of dressmakers just off South Pattaya Road at the back of Tukom - you should be able to get a nice dress made in a couple of days. Cheers Callum
  17. Fine idea Dunghie but might be a high budget solution. The escalator - not the ground floor bog! I wonder if the preference for the ground floor bog is evidence of Mourn withdrawal symptoms? Rumour has it that you made it back to Narita with a few inches of bark remaining on your tree! I was brave enough to return to Misty's after Dunghie's departure to collect my VIP card. Big dissapointment to find out that PSP was offering the card to any drunken Scot that could negotiate the run from Secrets to Mistys without doing a banana side trip into Baby Dolls! Enjoyed the 10% Paul - great idea to keep the riff raff and ballon chasers away! And a real inspiration not to include the bottles of spirits and free mixers in the package! I avoided the temptation to climb to the top shelf!
  18. Deuce arrived yesterday and we had a chat about this on the way back from the airport. We are inclined to play the RideHer Cup on Wednesday 4th November so that everyone has a chance to celebrate Loy Krathong and then recover on the Tuesday. It will also give Steve O a chance to watch his money go down the toilet in the Melbourne Cup. I will run the registration evening on Sunday 1st November and then have a practice day on Monday 2nd November. All in favour?
  19. A few guys have been asking about the 2009 RideHer Cup date. As usual, it will take place on the first Monday in November - Monday November 2nd. I have just been chatting online with Steve O and he has reminded me that 2nd November is Loy Krathong. Does that worry any of you? Please let me have your responses and I will switch the RideHer to Tuesday if that's what the majority want. Personally, it doesn't worry me. We can break out of the party for an hour to watch the fireworks and float a krathong. Time to get those flights booked! Update - We have fixed on Wednesday 4th November for the 2009 RideHer Cup
  20. Just sent you a pm Steveman. The RideHer Cup will be played on Monday 2nd November 2009. I will start a new thread for this right now!
  21. Here are the results of the 2008 RideHer Cup: USA - 9 points Europe - 9 points The USA team won the 2007 RideHer Cup so they retain the trophy for 2008. It was a great contest littered with hard luck stories all round the course. The Euro's played out of their skin against a USA team with a lot of low handicap players. And some great performances including the USA captain Tom Adams and Little Brian beating Ian and Bruce 1.5to .5 in the opening match. Duncan and Steve G saved the Euro team in the final match by winning 2 and 1. Here are the individual match results: USA team first: Brian and Tom 1.5 Ian and Bruce 0.5 John and Gentry 0.5 Taxi and Hub 1.5 BKK Bob and Clint 2 Andy and Bertie 0 Wi and Lat 0 Frank and Barry 2 Dennis and Eugene 0.5 Danny and Doghaus 1.5 Barney and Tim 1 Paul and Derek 1 Steve P and Mike 1.5 Terry and Davyson 0.5 Vic and Bill 2 Pete and Big Brian 0 Steve O and Sweatie 0 Steve G and Duncan 2 The spot prizes were won by: Nearest pin - high handicap: Pete Nearest pin - low handicap: Wi (inches from a hole in one) Longest drive - high handicap: Andy Longest drive - low handicap: Tim It was a great day and a fine party in the evening. Many thanks to: Martin and the FLB staff Frostfire Chicago Bob Tom Adam - sponsors of the golf towels Lots of golf happening over the next 3 weeks - the RideHer Cup is only the start of the golf festival. Well done everyone. Doggie
  22. Christo and Irish Rovers You were missed last night at the registration evening. I closed the competition at 10 pm with 38 players registered at FLB. Ashboy, Zed and Nick also on the missing list. Doggie
  23. 2 Brians Yes -I did spot the request yesterday! The shirts have already been embroidered and collected so I won't be able to do the patches. The embroidery goes directly on to the shirt with a backing strip. I have some XXXXL shirts for you guys so I think the best bet is for you to come to our office and collect them in advance. If the shirts don't fit then you should be able to have a seamstress cut out the embroidery and then stitch it on a shirt of your choice. There is a chance the shirts might fit - let's see when you try them on. Best wishes Callum
  24. Hi Irish Rovers and Christo My apologies about the delay in confirming your registrations. I was back in the UK with a rubbish old cellular modem. All 3 of you are very welcome and I will add you to the list. Please come along to FLB at 8pm on Sunday 2nd November for the registration evening. And thanks to Steve O for keeping you guys informed. Cheers Doggie
  25. If you want to see one of the golf courses we are playing, please take a look at the video we filmed last year: http://toozer.com/tgt/index.html This is a pilot programme for Thailand Golf Today that was produced by Pattaya Pete. In the programme, Jeremy Paulson plays Black Mountain with Simon Yates, Asian Tour Pro, and Kenny Walker, a pro from Scotland. You can either burn a DVD or view the programme online. Doggie
