Up and coming area is the fishing village of Bang Saray (approx 15 kilo south of Pattaya towards Rayong), well worth an investment lovely quiet beach with a small town. Lots of developments just kicking off, have a friend who purchased 6 rai of land and paid 650,000 per rai, a sea view with less than a five minute drive to the beach. Also Sattahip supposed to be OK but full of military...not my cup of tea.

FatBoy. My maintenance charge is 1800 baht per month which includes all chemicals and cleaning every 3 days. When you ask about the water charges I assume you mean for the initial fill, which unfortunately I cannot help you with as my pool was full on purchase of house. There are no other monthly costs I can think of, except the odd time you have to top up due to evaporation (which your maintenance dude will do for you) and not something you really need to be worried about the cost of. Water bill is approx 240 baht PM for a three bathroom home with pool Electric bill is approx 2400 baht PM (general household) my pump is on for 6 hours daily Forgot to mention that my maintenance charge also includes 24 hour security

The Montien is an absolutely awesome buffet if thats your bag, they have buffet nights on Weds, Fri and Saturday though Friday is probably the best for seafood as it is the Seafood and BBQ night, everything thats found in the sea you'll probably find there, you'll be pushed to find better. A little pricey at 750 baht but if you have a healthy appetite its a bargain...watch out for the drinks prices though!
