  1. That is very interesting. Mama Thai has DTAC sim card. If TW could use a cell phone (instead of VOIP) then maybe, pompem solved. Thanks I'll do some googleresearch
  2. Welcome You may like the action at soi 7/8 better than the South Pattaya scene. You may like Naklua much better. I do. Maybe Soi Baukhow floats your boat. You can rent a room on soi 6 for 4,000 baht per month . LordFlash obviously knows english and he has a reputation to maintain, so he would be a good place to start when you arrive. Pattaya is not very spacious, so being close to the action is quite relative. You can live in one of the new North Pattaya Road developments and still be one baht bus from the action. There's a great neighborhood west of Sukumvit/ south of Pattaya Tai/ n
  3. Three words that I would never say, consecutively, in one sentence, in Issan. Thanks for the input though. Na kop.
  4. My TW's family lives in the sticks and TW wants to call mama and check on the buffalo from time 2 time. I bought mama Thai very nice Nokia and that purchase has helped, little bit, with reception. Is there an antenna type product I can purchase (and send up 2 Issan) for better cell phone reception? Thanx in advance. Na kop.
  5. Citizenship is a whole nother bowl of wax. That 3 year thang I'm talkin about is just for the I.D. card (resident of Thailand). It helps with ownership of property and many other things but is not the full thing where you get a Thai passport.
  6. That's actually a bad sign because it means that they are not letting the concrete settle B4 puting another floor on top. This has been happening throughout the mideast and the third world frequently in the past 5 years. Major problems ahead with all this slash and burn construction goin on. Just look at the airport. Do you really want to invest in Thai "quality". 1,000,000 baht is the same as renting a fully furnished condo on the beach with all your expenses included (20,000 baht per month) for 50 months. You can rent a few blocks inland for 10,000 baht per month and get almost 9 years fo
  7. I obviously need to register at Thaivisa and ask the same questions. I did not see a age requirement for folks married to a Thai. Just 3 years of NIO and then enter the lottery in the october following the 3 years of having NIO. I think 100 people from each/any country are picked for residency each year.
  8. I lifted this off ThaiVisa. " 1. There is no such thing as a "marriage visa". 2. A non immigrant O visa can be issued to visit family for up to 90 days and a multi entry type has a one year validity and can be used for unlimited entry/exit up to 90 days each stay. 3. A non immigrant visa can be extended on a yearly basis inside Thailand at an Immigration office if you are married and have a family income of 40k baht per month. For those living in Thailand and meeting the requirements it is the smart thing to do. This is often called a marriage visa but is really an extension of stay.
  9. Is it easier to lease an existing business because all the permits, etc, come with the lease? What about starting from scratch?
  10. Ananya is kinda scary being almost below sea level and it stinks there during low tide. Do you have anything in Laem Chabang or Sri Racha?
  11. Agree 100% but those guys who do the rugby/football thang unprotected are hardcore. You'd have to hit a rugby player many, many, many times, HARD, to make a dent in that bloke.
  12. BP Hospital is very expensive. TGF and I go to Chulalongkorn Hospital (adjacent to Lumpini Park) in BKK. I'm sure Sri Racha or Rayong are quite modern also, and absolutely less expensive than BPH (You should be able 2 do the DNA check without Thai girl knowing about it). edit: Sri Racha is just north of Laem Chaebang, which is just north of Naklua, which is just north of Pattaya. It'll take over an hour on route 3 during rush hour. 25 minutes otherwise. You can take the Motorway to the point in the construction where you are required to bear left on a overpass to make a u-turn. Don'
  13. I didn't pay anything wednesday. They said "no tonight". ???
  14. Excuse me if this is naive, but why would anyone have to pay more than the sum of the parts? "How much do these used chairs cost, licquor inventory, used appliances, etc " 5,000,000 baht would easily cover starting from (used) scratch. Wouldn't it?
  15. patty ya sue cum vit kroong tep sue wanna poom don moo wong
  16. If you "Google" ( Soi Buakhao ) with any other spelling { ex- Soi Buakhow } you get Google's spelling correction; which reads.... Soi Buakhao
  17. What I was getting at is that I have to give them my name, address and PHONE NUMBER B4 they give me specific info. The stuff they give you B4 you give them your phone number is the sales pitch. Now if I don't like what I hear or whom I am talking to, they sell my contact info and every gumba on the south side is callin me pimping their ride. I have a simple test. All the info up front. Don't call me, I'll call you. Thanks for the info though. I didn't know there were funds that traded global futures index's.
  18. I will not give up dollars for the trumped up baht except for neccessities. If I put in 5,000 dollars now at baht 34, and, (WHEN) the baht goes back to 39, I have lost 25,000 baht.
  19. website did not pass the "minimum investment up front" test. I have to make contact with them B4 I learn anything beyond the sales pitch. Thanx 4 the info though
  20. Is Forex like options in that time value is factored in to the value of the purchase? Are there long term plays in currency trading? Or, do these contracts also have time value that depreciates towards expiration? Thanx in advance
  21. It is very easy to bring clubs on a airplane. If you do not bring your clubs you will have the built in excuse that you hit that bad shot because you did not have your clubs.
  22. Me likey Email me pix. I actually prefer sponsoring fresh ones. Most of them will keep the shaggin to a minimum when they have financial stability.

    Lawyer Needed

Call Easy Visa on Pattaya Nua. Speak to Mr Lord. He worked in the British Embassy in BKK for 20 yrs and has been in Thailand for 30. He would be my first compensated consultation stop for legal affairs in LOS. Good luck and be thankful it is only a condo issue. You would have a hopeless case with land. Na Kop
  24. I forgot to go to Cambodia last week and was 2 days over on the entry visa when I realized my mistake. I went to the beach road soi 5 immigration office to extend the visa. The cost for overstay is now 500 baht per day (coulda sworn the sign at the airport read 200 baht per day). The extension application is now 1,900 baht for 15 days. This can only be done once. I will have to do a visa run from now on. The 2,900 baht was worth it that particular day. I was in and out of that office in 15 minutes (this included going next door to get pictures and copys and a cappacino). Looks like the
  25. My bad. I've been in Pattaya for 41 days. I never thought I'd get tired of daily sex, golf and fun in the sun. I am itchin to work or do something productive. If I could only work here this would be paradise.
