Sabai Lodge

For the past 2 years I have stayed at the Sabai Lodge. A couple of months a go Sabai lodge sent me an email asking me to join the VIP members club.

They then sent a email giving me a membership no and saying that you will be offered special room rates.

 

Just want to know if any other board members have taken advantage of this and how much discount did they get.

I also have an invite from Sabai Lodge and I do believe that the VIP membship will center around the opening of the new wing that will open this Oct. This will be the 6-story structure. I was at the Sabai Lodge during month of Sept and the new section was no where near completion. Also they are working on the new addition across the road which will be billed as the Sabai Resort.

 

FYI - for those who stay at the new section behind Salathai Restaurant, If you want to avoid the walk of shame - there is a rear entrance used by the employees. You would enter the parking lot from Soi1 walk towards the cover parking area and you will see a narrow walk way between the building. Walk down the 3 steps thru the cyclone fence and turn right and take your 1st left and it will lead you to the 3 story structure. the only person wiho will see you is the security guard who is on duty.

I will be staying in a Standard room at Sabai Lodge in January.I have heared that these rooms have been renovated this year.Has anybody stayed in the newly renovated rooms yet and if so are they much of an improvement on the olds ones?

My friend was a bit unhappy last time because his room had no window and was very dark inside.Are there many rooms like this at the Sabai Lodge,I have specificaly asked for rooms with windows and one double bed,I hope they do not try and put me in a bad room with twin beds,I think it would be quite hard to change to another hotel at that time of year.

When making your reservation, be very specific about what you want. When it comes to the rooms in general, They now have 2 new sections they have added. The first new section is directly behind the Salathai Resturant. The 3-story bulding i would suggest not staying on the first floor as you will only have a view of the wall outside. Stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor. The new 6-story structure in the same area was not open on my last stay, but management said that it would be open in Oct.

 

The only negetives about the building is that they need to increase the lighting in the rooms. As for the deluxe cottages, Yes, try and get one, you have 2 entrances to your room. One is the rear hallway, the maids use this to enter and clean your room and the other entrance is directly to the pool area with a small sitting area in front of your room.

 

But my favorite place to stay is still the main building with the large pool. Stay in the three story structure on the 2nd or 3rd floor. The first floor does not have mcuh of a view from the window. As for rooms with a single double mattress. ask for rooms 225, 227, or 228. I have stayed in all these rooms. Also they were doing upgrades on some of the rooms on the first floor.

Thanks for the info Bob,yeah they really do need to do something with the lightness in the rooms.I will send another email and see if I can get one of those rooms you mentioned.

Walking past reception with a different TG everyday and sometimes different ones during the day. Has never bothered me in the least.
