The Park hotel is in a great location...directly opposite the Beer Garden in Soi 7. Its cheap...about $27 a night.

I've never seen a review of it so I guess it must be totally non guest friendly. Has anone got any experiences there?

In Bangkok,I usually stay in Park Hotel in soi 7.

It is guest friendly. It offers good rooms and bad rooms with same room charge. I don't care whether I get a good room or a bad room, I like it's location.

Refurbished rooms are very good. Clean spacious room with IDD phone, big TV, digital temperature setting of air -con,,,,. While non refurbished rooms are bad, worn-out carpet, leaking tap water,,,,,.

I hear big bed rooms are only 10%, every time I asked a big bed room, but never.

shergar,

I would suggest you read reports on this hotel on the Bangkok Tonight Forum. It gets consistently very poor reviews.

Where have you been all these years? :D

Thanks guys for the info,

Growler...I stayed over many years at the Boulevard on Soi 5. Guest friendly if you are independent, not GF if you are on a package. I think they charge B800.

If you stay at the Boulevard get a room on the eight floor (7 or 8, I forget) facing Sukhumvit Road. You have your own little terrace with sunbeds, gets the sun all day, and its good for a late night outdoor shag!!

The small looking windows at the Park kinda put me off. I never saw anything on any board about the place so I think it must be a kip or anti guest.

Since 2000, I have always stayed at the Omni in Soi 4. Super one bed apartment for B2,000 a night.

Heading back on 13 December. Doing Pattaya, Samui, Bangkok, Phnom Penh and Bangkok. Stand you a round if you are there.

I agree, great location. One block to the BTS (Nana). I stayed there earlier this year for about three weeks off and on during the room remodel. Rooms are large but qualitly is hit and miss. On upper floors the water pressure can be very bad (@1/2 hour to fill bath. Can't shower because there is no water pressure) Paid @1000bt. Guest friendly (no id taken). They charge @100bt/night for additional guest if paid upfront. I didn't pay the extra but nothing was ever said when I brought a guest except one time when I was charged 4 or 500bt. I would only stay there again if I could not stay at Majestic etc.

I stayed in the Park Hotel February 2003 and booked the room by phone. The staff are friendly, I guess I was lucky that I got the clean refurbished room. No problems at all bringing guests up to the room. I think the trick is to book a double room which doesnt cost much more than a single and they wont have a problem with guests.

Location is great, opposite Beer Garden and a 3 minute walk to NEP.

Have fun. I will be in Pattaya from the 15th November. Anyone up for a drink?
