Thanks C,

I stayed in a Topaz Suit in Tower 3 the last time and was very happy with it. And at 1490b if I can get it, it would be worth it. Everything else is over priced your right, and the older rooms in Tower 1 and 2 come with the not so charming birds chearping at 5:30 AM.

I was also considering the Majestic for 1290b, but after 22+ hours of flight time, I want to make sure the room is comfortable for a couple of days before I head down to Pattaya.

But thanks for the responce.

Last June I stayed there at one of their 1-BR-Suites (forgot the name, maybe Platinum? Or Executive? Or sheer bliss? They are all so creative on these names nowadays ...) for around 11000 Bt inclusive. It was in tower 1, no birds other than the ones I invited into my rooms .... and no joiner fees ....and Broadband Internet at 150 Bt extra a Day. The room was very nice, more than I had expected for the price.

I just heard that they raised all prices substancially. So I probably won't go there anymore.

Most comfortable room I've had in BKK was at the Nana Hotel {no kidding}, I got a room for 1500 Baht {Superior or Deluxe, I forget} and it was the size of a suite, with sofa, loveseat, desk and table for eating. The bedroom was seperated and dark for good sleeping. Bathroom was brand new and very clean. They are redecorating these rooms and it was a very nice one. Also had 2 TV's

Place catches a ton of grief, but I tried it again and will keep going back...

Agree with both of you guys that GP is over priced. Stayed in a Topaz in Feb 03 for 7600 baht per week. But since then a few price hikes which I could understand but the 10% service charge on top of those has made it poor value IMO.

Wisbadger,

I have stayed in Majestic Suites and have booked again for a few days for my next trip. Very nice hotel IMO and excellent location. 1luv

Greg, Growler,

Thank you for the opinions, I think I will give Nana a try then with one of the deluxe rooms. Besides, staying at least once at Nana hotel seems to be a form of right of passage for any selfrespecting Punter. :beer
