How about Makha Bucha Day in Pattaya ?? Will all bars been closed then and no alcohol sold or is it just a "normal" day like the rest of that week ??

Pattaya, (and for that matter the rest of Thailand) shuts bars etc on some days (bans the sale of alcohol) particularly when they vote etc.

 

Its kind of strange when they do, cos Pattaya with no beer is like brighton on a wet Tuesday in February.

 

Obviously, what actually happens is quite different and you won't have any trouble getting a beer. You might end up drinking it out of a mug, or be asked to hide it in some way, but someone will sell it to you!

 

The notable exceptions are Hotels and restuarants. I got ratarsed in King Seafood on voting day last year and then finished my evening by the pool at Sabai Lodge with a cold one.

 

All no sweat.

I was there last year on Makha Bucha Day in Pattaya and went searching all the way from Walking Street to Soi 7 in search of some action.

 

From memory, the majority of the beer bars were closed and those that were open had their lights dimmed, no music playing and just a few girls in attendance.

 

Could only remember a couple of go-go bars being open, one being Superbaby in Soi Diamond.

It shouldn't as long as you know in advance. Just keep the TG from the previous night or call one up from a earlier encounter.
