Hi everyone,

I am looking to book my hotel for my trip to Pattaya in July, I would just like some recommendations on some trustworthy websites to book it through. The last thing I want is to turn up at the hotel and they have no information on my booking made.

One website I was looking at was www.sawadee.com

Cheers people.

My basic rule is. If a hotel cost around 2000 and more, it's time for Google.

Just write in - "Golden Cockroach Hotel" pattaya rate - and spend 30 minutes looking through the rates.

Do the same on cheaper hotels as well if you have time. ALL expensive hotels, almost without exeption will be cheaper if booked through an agent, or the net etc. Some of the cheaper ones as well. Then you call the hotel and try to get a good rate. The only problem with the cheaper ones are booking them. You need to call them most of the times. They will hardly reply to a fax, and get back to you on e-mail takes time in Thailand. Then you have the walk-in. Will get the best rates on the cheapest ones that way. Cept for the ones that are sold out all year around.

I've had so so experience booking hotels over the internet. I've never had a problem with Priceline, though, but with them you neve know exactly what you'll get.

Anyway, on my first trip to Thailand I remember trying to book thhe JW Marriott through some website, using my credit card. I was doing this when I was waiting for my cab to go to the airport. As it turned out, my credit card didn't work because the bank thought it was a fraud. When I got to Bangkok the JW Marriott didn't have any reservation in their computer for me. They had a room, though, but it cost me 5,500 Baht, or something like that.

Another time I tried to email some hotel in Pattaya to make a reservation and they never replied. I went anyway and they knew who I was and were expecting me. They apologized for not answering my emails.

Have used www.precisionreservations.com and www.asiarooms.com Both are good, reliable and safe. Precisionreservations generally works out a little cheaper and dont bill you until a few days before your arrival.

Have used sawadee a lot ,with no problems,

they send you a E mail after your trip, asking how your stay was.

Only down side to me is that, the list of Pattaya hotels is limted,
