Long term condo advice required

Recommended Posts

Hello.

Some local knowledge would be appreciated on long term condo renting. I'll be moving to Pattaya from UK later this year. I'll probably just stay in a hotel for the first few weeks and have a good look around for a nice place but some insider info would be good:

1. Jomtein or Pattaya? Does being too close to the action wear you down after a while or does it beat the inconveniance of getting the baht bus in?

2. Can I get a decent 1 bedroom place with pool and gym access for less than B20000?

3. Do most condo blocks have security?

Rawlins,

I'll be there in 2 months time. My plan also is to stay in an hotel for 4 weeks or so until I find somewhere to stay. I'm looking at staying at View Talay which is pretty close to Jomtien but on the baht bus route - so no major problem getting to where the nightlife is. It's up to your personal preference, but I would rather stay a little bit away from the action.

I've seen one-bedroomed condos in View Talay at around 18,000/20,000 baht per month plus they do have a decent sized pool.

Thanks Alan.

I've heard View Talay mentioned quite a lot - definately need to check that place out.

Hope all goes well for you.

Not sure what month I'll be heading over yet - July, August or September.

I'll get in touch and you can let me know how you are getting on and what you recommend once you've arrived.

I own two new, very nicely furnished and decorated studio condos in View Talay -- one on 6th floor, and one on the 7th floor. Feel free to email me when you know your dates. These are not one bedroom condos though, but studios (ie. not two rooms).

Cheers,

Just a little info to consider in your search: Condo rental prices in View Talay may vary a lot actually, depending on the quality of the condo interior and on the view from the balcony.
