Sabai Inn - 'Internet Deal' a Deal?

Recommended Posts

Sabai Inn has a 'Special Internet Rate' of 700B a day; no breakfast. Having stayed at the Inn once before I'm already happy with this price but the Cheap Charlie in me still wants the room for free. :beer

For those of you in the know (total noob here), do you think this can be negoiated down or is it already as low as it's going to get?

I've heard of people getting ten days for the price of seven but I having a feeling they are going to tell me this is already the deal at 700B.

So, in a nutshell, here are the questions:

1. Is 700B for a standard room at Sabai Inn a deal already?

2. Any way I could squeeze a price reduction or some extra (like breakfast)?

3. Considering this is an internet deal should I make a reservation or will I do better as a 'walk in?'

4. Any other suggestions about Sabai Inn?

Any Jedi Master Cheap Charlie's have advice? Thanks in advance! :beer

What comes to my mind first is that the rooms in Sabai Inn vary a lot in size and location. With this internet deal you might be locked into the least desireable category. Other than that I think the price is good.

I think you have a standerd room,i have a superior room 850 bht.

No breakfast.king size bed, eletronic safe in the room. And you can use the swimmingpools of the Sabai logde.Soi 2 is a good location.

So i think it,s a good price.

I arrive Thursday morning.Stay 10 day,s,Maybe pay 8 ?? :finger

Flash Basbo,

A significant number of the guests staying at the Sabai Inn are loyal, return guests who stay 3+ times a year. They would not be very impressed if there was any hint that either walk-in or "cheap charlies" were negotiating the price down compared to what they were paying. For this reason, further discounts are few and far between.

The internet rate of 700 Baht is the going rate for the place (walk-in or pre-book). If you do book, you should avoid room numbers in the X07-X11 range as they are "internal" rooms with no natural sunlight. The place is normally quite busy (especially during bank holidays and if they have a "star turn" at the Kumm Pun Pub) so if you decide to walk-in then your choice of accommodation could be limited.

Your getting good advice from guys. The only way you might be able to get a lower rate are you staying in low season and are you a long term guest, 21 days or more. Talk price only with the manager and pull him away from others as he might not want to cut prices in front of guest paying full boat. Manager is the only one with the authority to cut prices. If you get a better rate, don't brag.

  • 2 weeks later...

I made a reservation and seemed to get what I asked for; a room facing Beach Rd with external window (not an internal room). I decided not to bother negociating the price as I feel its fair. Wheels-up in 26 days!

Great advice from BigDUSA..The top dog is always the one 2 go too.

Also, I haven't heard of anyone getting a better deal there but the season

plays a part of everything i LOS.

Except for, apart for anything else, "he" is a she and AFAIK is on extended maternity leave for the foreseeable future.
