Making reservation online

i want to make a reservation for a hotel, but every website asks me to pay online by credit card . Did you ever do that ? and wich website would you recommend ?

Sandy Spring have never asked me for credit card details over the net. They have when I checked in and I supplied them and had no problems. They have an electronic system there which makes credit card abuse a little bit tougher.

I have had hotels ask for CC info online. In every case they did not have a secure website so I emailed them I wanted the reservation but did not want to send Credit information over an unsecure site. Every hotel that I did that with gave me a reservation without CC.

Those hotels that dont require cc details may not offer you the advertised discount though, get an email confirming the agreed price and then show them when you roll up.

I prepaid for my room at The regency Park in BKK last year and I had no problems at all. They even sent me a reminder e-mail on the day i requested and a follow up e-mail rating them and their service. I think it depends on the hotel and how comfortable you are with it. I was a bit put off at first, but it all worked out for the good. I even tried to extend my stay a few days in the hotel and they told me I couldn't because the hotel was full for the next week, so that is another aspect........One thing to note: Never make plans! If you pre-paid you probably won't get a refund if you leave early, so you need to ask ahead of time.

I've used the Hong Kong Priceline site to buy rooms in Bangkok with a credit card. No problems whatsoever, even with a very late arrival.
