Diana Inn - your impressions ?

I normally find myself staying at the Diana Inn, I like it's central location, having kiss food right next door is great, it has a car park with security which I need as my teerak parks her car there and I park my motorbike, it has a nice pool and the staff are friendly enough apart from the little weasle who works nights on the desk sometimes, but he learnt his lesson and now wont even look me in the eye. what I dont like about it is that it could do with a renovation and the television is crap.

 

So anyone else have a opinion about this place, also I'd welcome some alternate suggestions of places with secure car/motorbike parking and a pool for similar money, I'd prefer to stay somewhere more picturesque and less hotel like really, my friend who lives and works in Pattaya suggested the Haven on soi 13.

Areca Lodge right accross the street. Paid 950/night last September.

Areca Lodge is on the other side of the street, but about 150 metres down the Soi.

I just stayed at the Diana Inn, april 15-18 '06. Cost me 1,200 B per night. On my last night i decided to have a look at their buffet breakfast. 110 B the sign said. But when i tried to pay the girl told me that it's free to guests!

Wasn't told this by the reception on arrival.

Never stayed there but often had the dinner buffet for about 160 baht I think. Terrific value.

I stayed in Diana Inn a few years ago. I grew out of it, but it is mostly a good bet and good location. Has a strong following. Breakfast is good value. Rooms vary considerably, even while in the same price brackets. Breakfast comes with all rooms. Swimming pool is very small. It's across from that ugly Mike's Shopping Mall building.
