lhr to bkk klm via abu dhabi (economy) £3270 is this taking the michael?flight is for 29th july (i already have my flight booked i was just looking) who the f??k pays these sort of prices?

Sounds as though there's an extra zero been put on the end - or its the fare for flying 1st class?

 

Certainly no way I would pay anything remotely close to that for cattle class.

seems a bit strange this one both on the price and the route,if there is an extra zero then thats a very good price for klm, if not thats one expensive flight

 

never knew klm flew via abu dhabi , always thought that they flew direct from uk via amsterdam to bkk and onto manilla or taipei

no extra zero thats the price! i did a search on airline warehouse.com for a flight scrolled down and saw that,its not last minute its 4 weeks away just seems crazy to me that they think someone will pay it i would never have gone to thailand with quotes like that..

The first time I flew to Bangkok it was with Gulf Air, the cost was £356.00 but on the ticket it showed the schedule price which was £1792.00.

That's not the case on all websites/search engines. E-bookers, for example (Travelbag, Bridge the World etc would be the same), throw up this example when you search on their site:

I live in amsterdam and normely fly china air but the prices I get are all starting at about 900 euro add tax and surcharge for this and that and agents charges its starting to look like 1200 euro return.what I was wondering was when do the airlines up there prices. What should I do, the best deal I see is with swiss air or fin air about 950 euro

with taxs,that is with a stop over but thats no big deal.Should I book now or wait awhile

i just booked for December 23 to jan 23 with Lufthansa out of BHX UK and all in it cost me £702!

 

hurts like hell paying this much but they are going fast, i missed one by not booking 2 days before, i could have got the same flight for £630 so i thought better to know for sure i have the dates i want.

 

dunno if they will come down at all but i seem to remember last year it was real hard to get anything for Christmas week if you leave it to the month before.

Generally speaking, flight prices will increase in mid-December depending on the airline.

 

My own opinion (and that's all it is) is that flights to LOS will very heavily booked this Xmas - notwithstanding any disasters, terrorist attacks, wars etc. The reason for this is the increase in numbers of groups of younger guys who are doing 2 weeks in the summer and 2 weeks at Xmas/New Year. The way the Bank Holidays fall this year (Mon 26/Tue 27 Dec and Mon 2 Jan are all public holidays) means that guys will be able to go out from Sat 17 Dec through to Tue/Wed 3/4 Jan and still only use 10 working days holiday.

 

If I was booking now I would happily take the 950 Euros on offer from Swissair. They have decent, new aircraft, decent timings, good service and PTV in each seat in economy. You may also have the option of electing to take the Thai codeshare from Zurich which should, by that time, be operated using one of their new A340-600 aircraft (PTV in economy).

 

As an example, a cursory check for your dates shows the cheapest fare with Swiss (on the Thai codeshare from Zurich) from London at around 1,010 Euros. There are a couple of cheaper alternatives (China Eastern, Alitalia, Turkish) but nothing I would fancy flying on for 12 hours.

Hi mike like wagger says i would book now,because last year booking for some friends around christmas in november klm were the cheapest at 950 all in with travelbag ebookers etc when .I managed to get my friends a deal for 650 with klm and 4 nights in a hotel in bangkok through dial a flight but they were lucky as this deal was only through a telephone booking after phoning on the off chance they had some deals check out there site and give them a ring.I have been looking for freinds again leaving mid dec for a month but can get them flights for around 500 all in with travelbag which they are buying next week but i think the longer you leave it the price will go up like last year to around 950 good luck.

So I booked with swiss air out 6-12-05back30-1-06 total costs 943.97 euro

could have booked with china direct for 50 more but I think that that flight is going to be jam packed

 

If I left on boxing day it was 200 cheaper but I want to be eating fried rice on a beach somewhere on christmas day.

So now where do I want to be, pattaya will be 2 much over christmas and new year,

I really want a christmas free zone.

Cambodia snooky, maybe or vietnam,hua hin will be full on christmas samui the same

phuket 2 if anybody knows of a beach place that is christmas free or as free as it can be let me know please.

TG971 and LX4300 are the same flight. It is operated by Thai. LX182 is operated by Swiss.

 

On the return TG970/LX4301 is operated by Thai and LX183 by Swiss.

 

Keep your eyes open for any news on Air Asia announcing details of their VietNam flights. They are due to do so within the next month or so and there could be some good deals available.
