Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Planning a trip to Phi Phi Island during my trip in Aug but cannot seem to find any bungalows for around 500-800 baht, has any one got any useful info regarding this? do you think it's best to wait utill I arrive in Phuket airport and then ask around?

Thanks in advance!

From what I've heard Phi Phi Island sustained some fairly severe damage from the Tsunami. I wonder if they've got the small bungalow type places back in operation?

Rex7777,

Yeah, maybe you are right? the only bungalows I can find are the high end prices! I just wanted to try and spend alittle money their way because how else will they get back on their feet without our tourism!

I have some friends that work there.

The center part of the island at the Princess and Charlie resorts were hit really hard, nothing left except some cement structures. All the cheaper Charlie bungalows are gone.

The North end of the island was left mostly in tact. There is a Holiday Inn and a place called Phi Phi Natural, both are on the expensive side.

Charlie and Princess resorts are trying to reopen for Christmas '06.
