Imperial Queens Park Bangkok

I've stayed at IQPP before. For the money, there are a lot better places in Sukhumvit IMO. There is an "elevator" security guard, during the daylight hours, but I never saw him at night (I always returned after 2am each night). I never paid a joiners fee, but I cannot say that they do not have one, just that when I entered the lobby I always headed straight to the elevators and kept a low profile (it is about a 30m walk from the main doors to the elevators, turn right to avoid the front desk area). There are a lot of Japanese families that stay there, so it is not really a punters place. Although I did meet a chap from England at the pool one afternoon who (like me) had his BG de jour still with him. IMHO you should check out the Grand President on Soi 11. It is the same price, and a better place. No joiner fee at GP, but they do take the girls ID (unless you ask them not too). No idea if there is a joiner fee if you bring back 2 BG's at once.

I stayed at the IQPH a year ago last January for my first trip to Bangkok. It was expensive and in my view not worth the money. Also my room was on the 34th. floor and had curtain windows. I spent most of the time spreadeagled against the wall. My vertigo would not allow me to look out of the window or get anywhere within 5 feet of it. I didn't take any TG back to the room because I was on holiday with my then girlfriend (stupid bugger!).

This year I stayed at the Regency Park, also on Soi 22, opposite the IQPH. A lot cheaper but still not my cup of tea. Service was poor and they do insist on a joiners fee. The hotel was very noisy too, all the rooms open on to a central atrium so you can hear people banging doors all day and night. A new hotel/apartment block was in construction next door too although there didn't seem to be much building going on. It may be about finished now.

I will try the Nana next time for a week before heading off to Pattaya for a couple of weeks. I read on the boards that everyone should try the Nana at least once so if I can get in I will. It's handy for the Biergarten and of course NEP although my favourite, Soi Cowboy is a fair walk away.

In short, I could not recommend either of the aforementioned hotels for different reasons.

I have stayed here and had no problems bringing ladies back. The area is close to Soi Cowboy and there are some bars in the complex opposite the hotel. The rooms were nice although not cheap. :D
