LK review

Here's one from a while back....

I like the place. Can be expensive on a short-term rate but big discounts for 6 months or more stays.

Gym, sauna, steam room, swimming pool, massage spa place.

Good rooms and furnishings. Cable TV. Wireless internet (when it works..)

Big beds - I reckon you could get about four or five Thai girls in easy, but haven't tried that many yet.

Hi have stayed at the LKM many times during low season when the rates where as low as 1,200 Baht a night for 3 days or more. However in September the lowest eas 1,500 Baht a night and how they want 2,000 a night I am told. The hotel is nice, beds are great as they are new. Bathroom is not bad, but I hate that you have to step into the bath for a shower. I think it is one of the best hotels in the area for under 1,500 a night but at 2,000 or more it is overpriced. Also on my last visit the staff where getting a bit funny with wanting me to stick with one lady and put her on the register. VaioLord

I looked at the place when it first opened last December. The rooms and furnishings are some of the best in Pattaya. They have nine different types of rooms with the smallest being 36 sq meters and the deluxe suite a spacious 168 sq meters.

Like rawlins stated, the prices vary depending on length of stay. As an example the small room was listed at 1500 daily and 30,000 monthly for it promotional rate which ended 31 Mar 05. If you stayed 2 month it dropped to 20,000 a month, 3-6 month and it was 18,500 and 6 months or more 16,500.

Effective March 1st. The long term rate for a standard room for 3mo. is 19,500bt per mo. Studio is 22,500 and superior is 24,000.

Free wi-fi is available, but it is spotty.

Hi, I was there in February. All good although I did have a proble with the shower. The had the wrong type of bracket holding the shower head to the wall and it was virtually impossible to position it so you could shower yourself. If you put the head in the bracket it sprayed the water at the middle of the wall at the back of the bath meaning there was no way to get under the flow. So you had to hold the shower head and point the water at yourself, the put it down while you soaped an area and then hold it to rinse that part off...very frustrating.

Beyond that a nice room but expensive at 2,500 per day. They do lower rates for longer stays but if you should need to leave early they will charge you the higher rate.

Also when the in room internet stopped working there was a complete lack of interest in fixing from reception.

This looks good and I may change my present booking to move to it next month.

Do the standard or studio rooms have a balcony? What might they typically overlook?

Do the bathrooms have separate showers or is it in/above the bath?

How 'spotty' is the wifi? This is important & I'd really appreciate feedback on it - especially if some one is using an apple mac. Otherwize do they have a place with a wire connexion?

Is there a nearby decent food supermarket? (If not a la Big C, then something reasonable.)

Does the kitchen have any sort of stove/hot plate, or just the microwave?

Residents' responses would be appreciated. Many thanks.

The shower is over the bath.

Anyone have the problem I had with the shower head being in the wrong bracket?

Internet okay for me when it worked but was off 2 days out of 9 and reception not interested.
