I will be staying at tha AA Residence (opposite the Sportsman) over Xmas/New Year. Does anybody know how the building work is going on the plot next door? When I stayed there in March they had just started building and the noise led me to change rooms, I fear I may not be able to do this at busy time. Will have to consider a change of hotel

Stayed in the Sandy Spring August/september and it was still noisy, sometimes VERY noisy.

(BTW, a lot of the workers on that building are woman, some very young. One of them is a real stunner!)

I'll be at the Ma Maison Nov 24 - Dec 10, which I think :clueless is more toward the Beach Road end of Soi 13. My first trip, so I'm not sure of location.

In any case, is this near the construction site? If so, I may be moving.

Any comments on Ma Maison, by the way??? It looks kind of nice on their site.

Thanks,

sb

Next door to Ma Maison, to the east, The Golden Crab is doing a 7 or 8 story addition. However it would appear most of the heavy construction has been completed. By the time you arrive in late December it may very well be finished.

Samsonite,

Thanks for replying.

Actually I'm arriving in Pattaya in 15 days, November 24. But as you say, if the major construction seems to be done, then hopefully it will be at least an acceptable level of noise.

And then I'm always up for meeting some of those little brown female construction workers I've heard about. :D

Either way though, I'll make the best of it.

Thanks again.

sb

The noise is only a part of the problem.

Another factor to take in to consideration is the heavy construction traffic which currently blocks Soi 13 for most of the day plus those cement lorries keep coming and going and knocking wing mirrors of parked cars not to mention the absolute eye sore of the whole bloody thing :D

Soi 13...Nah, not for me this Christmas :D
