Finally, recieved my final work date commitments 12th December 05!

Been surfing and phoning :frustrated all sites and agents for a flight outta this freezing land. All the available pre Christmas quotes from Dublin are coming in around £850+.

That extra 2-3 hundred quid would really be useful to help put my gogo dancing Korat cutie through further education She really doesnt like working in that p4p envirioment However she only stays there because she enjoys being near the seaside as that is the only reason she came to Pattaya

Im desperate to get a flight booked. Can anyone advise.

Rather depends what your return date is - you don't say. Emirates can get you out there for £560 from LHR or LGW but that will vary somewhat depending on your return date. Don't know what DUB-LON will set you back but not much I guess.

 

I looked at www.traveljungle.co.uk

 

Emirates is also electronic ticket so no messing around waiting for paper in the mail.

I plan at least 3 months stay. I can then help my girl from Nong Khai improve herself in that time. oops! Khorat or somewhere like that 555.

ebookers' Irish site has SAS for 924 Euros departing on 13 Dec. Opodo has the same flight for 672 UKP. Both prices include all taxes/surcharges. !0 Mar was used as the return date in both cases.

 

Flights are one stop via Copenhagen and are on new aircraft. All seats on the main leg have individual seatback TV and wireless internet access if you haul along your laptop.

Got a great offer for 13th and was ready to book it then all my plans have gone a skiwif as my boss wants me to finish on 15th dec .prices shoot up approx 200 squids after the 14th and i got a quote from emirates of 930 via belfast,lgw,dubai,bk!!!! for the 18th

ok time to copy the thais and pray to buddha for my employer to have a bit of festive compassion. surely they should understand that ive been back in uk for nearly 3 months without even a little sexy somtam....

that was a qoute this afternoon for 18th dec from Trailfinders. belfast,lgw,dubai>bkk!!!!!!

the thought of having to be here eating turkey instead of nibbling hoy in pats is depressing!!

btw. the fatbird in trailfinders told me that i would have to get my visa before i go if going via lgw with emirates. she said one of her punters wasnt allowed thru yesterday as he had a 3 month tkt with no pre booked onward flights!!! I usually just walk thru and never been stopped in the last 4+ years for having NO visa or pre booked onward flights! Does anyone know whether they have tightened things up. before i get flamed I do know that is regulation to have visas if staying longer than 30 days. Ive never done that uk side. ive made 11 rtn trips in the last 4 and half years!! whats da story???

Do you have any accomodation sorted out yet? Decent accomodation in high season will be harder to find than the flight you are after. If it was me looking to go over there in 2-3 week i would have had my flight and hotel sorted out by now mate!!!!!!!

 

Pull your finger out or you may end up spending christmas time in the good old U of K!!

If you wait a week and fly 0n xmas day you can get emirates for 650 from london.

No flights leave Ireland on Xmas day, so that will hammer him, try Travelocity with Air France, they often do good deals from Dublin

Sorry for the confusion. I will depart from Belfast that is why both ROI Dublin and any Uk aiport would be ok.

Ive provisionally booked for 14th Dec, Belfast>LGW>Dubai>BKK with Emirates for £594.

However doubt if I will be able to get that one. Unless, my work load changes, which I doubt.

Therefore Ive also provisionally booked for 18th Dec, Dub>??>BKK with Gulf for £670.

Trying to cover all bases!! One way or the other i will get there coz lack of thai boomboom increases my determination! haha

If you are flying with Gulf Air from Dublin you should register with their airmiles system online as it will give you an extra 10 kg baggage allowance . You should do this now as it takes them a few days to e-mail back with your FF membership no & a card you can print out .

 

Have you tried Gazelle Travel ? Call 0191 261 8616 & ask for Gordon . He can usually match or beat any price I have got . The flights are with Air Lingus from Dublin to Amsterdam & China Air on to Bangkok . The connection times are fairly good & Schipol is a much nicer place than LHR to hang around .You are better to speak to Gordon as some of the other agents don't realise that China have a connecting flight to Dublin .
