Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Looking to book hotel in Pattaya, possibly Areca Lodge for March. Is it better to book direct or through online agents and save baht.. Read elsewhere some warnings about a Thai based company that runs many sites that may not be its cracked up to be, with no accomadation booked...any comments?

As a regular at the Areca Lodge, you will not find it any cheaper booking via a third party website, the price is exactly the same.

I have used Asiatravel for hotels in Bangkok, and there seem to be good savings on some Bangkok hotels and more upmarket Pattaya hotels as compared to the walk-in rates.

I have never had a problem booking online, just turned up with the printed hotel voucher or confirmation.

Firstly I search sites to find out which hotel I want to stay at.

Then I check this hotel against a range of sites and also with the hotels own site if one exists ( I then go with the best price) I don't know what the situation is with Areca, previous poster is sure that direct is best
