EVA- LHR connections to Manchester

I notice that since the 777s have been on the run, that the flights into Heathrow and everywhere else come to that are invariably late, often not arriving at Heathrow until 2030. This leaves a 20 minute connection time to BMI or BA about 5 mins after that. I would have thought that even Seb Coe would have trouble getting from the bowels of terminal 3 (gate 42) to the deepest depths of Terminal 1 in time.

Any recent experiences would be appreciated ! :clueless

I'll reply for the sake of information B)

Just experienced this and would not recommend the connection at all.

The EVA flight was 30 minutes late (about as close to being on time as they ever get nowadays) which gave a maximum of 60 minutes to do the the transfer. Really breathtaking brisk walk/trot to bus transfer, ended up joining a queue of about 200 people trying to pass through a sole open security gate at the Terminal 1 connection centre. Here I and about 8 others had to harangue an airport official to "queue jump" us, which, bless him :banghead he reluctantly did, much to the disgust of the queuing mass. Managed to check in and made the long run/trot to BMI gates to constant public address haranguing of my name. Straight onto the plane and door shut behind me. Cardiac arrest imminent ! :drunk NB this is also the final flight times for all of the Northern airports.

Of course, the suitcase did not make the connection ! :clueless :drunk

Unless EVA get their schedule sorted, and BAA their security arrangements, this northern connection would appear to be unfeasible, and you do need to be reasonably fit. :clueless

I thought I read somewhere that you can have a free overnight stay at LHR on your return EVA flight, not sure if it was OURS travel offering this. Maybe other agents do as well.

They used to advertise MAN-BKK via AMS but now it is via LHR.

I agree about the timekeeping of BR067, the problem is usually a late arrival in Bangkok from Tapei.

I don't think Thai like EVA, they have no through baggage agreement and EVA is always the furthest stand from the terminal, and when taxying ATC always make sure TG get preference.

Mai Pen Rai, suppose it's the same the world over, BA/LHR etc.
