Motion Picture and Film Work in LOS

Recommended Posts

Forgive me if this is the wrong forum to inquire about this but it's the only Thai board I belong to currently. I am coming to Thailand for the first time next week, pretty much to have a good time and check out the culture. While in country I thought I might investigate the local film and video scene. I am a California film and video professional looking for possible leads in Pattaya or BKK. I'm in the Directors Guild of America, lots of credentials, Digital Editing expert lot's of national awards in advertising and documentary film making. East Coast born and educated (creative work-a -holic) looking for representation in South East Asia. Any leads would be appreciated. I will need a diversion from all the BG's and Soapies. I'm very excited to visit Pattaya.

Thanks in advance,

Stay in BKK as this is the center of the Thai film industry. Your guild should be able to provide some leads. Good luck.

I once knew a guy from California who made his living behind the lens in the motion picture industry then retired to Pattaya.

He once told me he was involved in shows like; Charlies Angels, Chips, Castaway & a John Candy movie called Speed Zone.

He purchased some land near Jomtien then built a nice open plan villa however, he returned to the states for a holiday some 4 or 5 years ago and has never been sighted in Thailand since.

Any one know what happened to him ?

Name-Gary Glouner.

If you have animation experience, email me. Chiang mai has one of the largest animation facilities in Thailand

I've supervised lot's of 3-d and special fx animation but I am not an animator

by trade, but I would find it facinating to visit a factory like that. Perhaps create some connections so I could flow work to them. I will be in Chiang Mai next week. If you are in Pattaya this week perhaps we can get a drink.
