Hi,

I've decided on the Sabai Resort for this trip, and I might try the Paradise rooms. They're a bit pricey on the hotel website, so I was wondering if there were any good online places I might be able to get a better deal from?

Anyone here stayed in the Resort. From the pictures it seems like a nice place to chill out in.

Any other info on the Resort would be welcome.

Thanks.

Hi Strooby,

I stayed in the Sabi Resort for fifteen days over Christmas this year, I paid 1450 per night for a standard room in the block on your left when you enter the pool area. Thought the room was expensive for what you got, but it was a last minute booking and it was right in high season. Excellent location right next to big C.

The pool area is nice if your are a sun worshipper, the pool has a jacuzzi section as well. In room safes are provided, air conditioning units are old and quite noisey but work ok, cable tv in room and a big screen provided in the reception area which they show football matches on if you are into football. I thought that the food and drink in the hotel was slightly expensive.

Watch your bill when checking out they tried to rip me for an extra day. I will post a review in the hotel section shortly I hope.

Send an email to Care, the manager. She'll usually give you a couple hundred baht price improvement over the website price. Maybe more in low season. She's at the Sabai Lodge but handles bookings for the Resort as well.

The rooms that Mr he-tet is talking about are the remnants of the Weekender Hotel which occupied the land before the Resort came along. The other rooms are mostly new and they just opened up the Villas in the rear of the property. Nice but pricey.

I found the food quite good. I got hooked on the chicken wings; had to have them every couple days. My TG loved the thai food they prepared. The service from the staff was very good. Any concerns or problems were addressed promptly. And one hundred baht handed to the cleaning lady on the first day ensured my room got cleaned first and lots of fresh towels and extra pillows whenever needed.

There are worse places you could stay.

Thanks for the replies :cry1

Final, final query. I fancy the Ruen Thai (Paradise) rooms as they look like a nice place to relax. The website says you have a private balcony facing the pool. Can I walk into the pool from the balcony, or do I have to go a long way round.

Also, do these rooms have a TV and safe in them.

Got a good deal from contacting Care as suggested, cheers for that.

Thanks again :banana
