Airfare to Bangkon in October

Hello:

I will be leaving for Bangkok the first week of October. Should I book my flight now or should I wait closer to my departure date? Would I get a better deal now? Also, can anyone recommend a good airline/rate leaving from Baltimore, MD/Washington, DC? Are travel agencies worth checking into or should I stick to the Internet?

Thanks,

Jeff

I always fly Delta (Delta/Korean Air) from Florida. I booked my ticket for Oct/Nov back in February and the same flight has increased by about $300 since then. You'd better book asap as they seem to be climbing every day.

I didn't know your travel dates so I put my dates in (10 Oct - 09 Nov) and it appears Delta has a great flight out of Dulles (IAD). Straight to Seoul then to Bangkok. Same thing on the return, Bangkok, Seoul, Dulles. (short lay-overs)

$1178 + $24 misc. fees = $1202.00 total.

From here I have to take Tampa/Atlanta/Seoul/Bangkok.

Prices have tended to lower after September 15. With the price of gas, I'd book now. United give good service and you could always fly to JFK and fly non stop on Thai.

Big D,

Have you ever tried the JFK to Bangkok direct flight? Right now you can get it for around $1100, plus whatever it takes to get to JFK, but I'm not so sure about 17 hours in the same plane. Did you go nuts? How big are the seats?

I flew this route once and I liked the service Thai provided good food, drinks whenever I wanted them and I fit in all the airline seats with no problem. I liked the non stop cuts a lot of time off the flight. I would fly them again. Excellent in seat entertainment system.

Well, I went ahead and booked the flight - JFK to BKK. It gets into BKK at 5PM. I suppose there'll be more traffic that time of day. Usually, I get in around midnight. Now the next project is to find a hotel in Bangkok for a few days.

You got a decent deal. The 5 pm traffic won't kill you because you it will be closer to 6 before you are even in the taxi.

You are gonna love this flight.

BKK hotel: Grand Business Inn on Soi 11.

PM me for more info.

Check out www.majesticsuites.com I've stayed there many times and it's my first choice in the inexpensive range of hotels. Westin is my first choice in the high end. I got out of the airport around 4:30 and traffic moved way better then I expected. :eyecrazy

Thai has a good price for October JFK-BKK around $1080 return tax included.

NS Thai from JFK to BKK is arguably the best route to go. Save time, save jetlab, etc.. , although about $300-400 more expensive than 31-39 hour trip. Still, Majestic Suites, IMOP, is NOT a great deal. Rooms are extremely small and breakfast SUCKS!! Worse than that is the FD service staff, who could give a rat's ass about you. I think Nana Hotel is better for several reasons. Other than that, you can find other hotels on suckandvomit that must be better than MS. :eyecrazy
