China Air

Iwas looking for airline prices and China air is selling Cattle car sets for about $670US (SFO-BKK). Also there times for arrival and departure are great. So I would like to know if any one has used China Air and what is it like?

Do yourself a favor and take Cathay, Singapore, or JAL instead...

 

I flew China once in Biz - garbage.

I,m not sure what happened to Picoman but China,s bizz is more then great.

Also cattle class is much beter then any american or european airline.

I fly China and EVA a lot.

Only flown China Air once, but after my next trip I will have burned most of my ff miles on NWA and will be flying either China or Eva more than likely. I found my flight on China comfortable, good departure and arrival times, food better than NWA and much better eye candy with the flight attendents. I flew cattle class. Just getting to LOS in the middle of the day instead of midnite is worth the change. NWA probably does have a better ff program.

I fly China  and EVA a lot.

I've flown China Airlines, United, JAL, Singapore, and Cathay biz class to HKG and back many times (China only once) - China Airlines biz class is inferior by a mile. There is a reason why that ticket is about 1/2 price of what the others charge.

 

Although I did not sit in coach I did stroll around it. The food, the plane quality, the seats, and the cleanliness are donkey nuts compared to the others... IMHO.

 

Important note: That flight was in late 2000 or early 2001, things may have changed for the better, but first impressions are sometimes everything.

 

An opinion was asked for and I responded...

 

By the way, Cathay has great deals this month, $771 for me in Nov with 1 week stop in HKG.

 

Edit: One more note, look into the mileage program for China Airlines, only shares with Mandarin Air (Taiwan local airline) if memory serves correctly.

Always fly China - the only flights out of Hawaii that arrive at 1600 as opposed to around midnight for every other carrier. I have enough miles that I will be sitting in the front row in another day and a wake up.

 

you might want to double check that price though - my ticket from HNL to BKK was $880 - about $200 more than usual with surcharge for fuel.

I allways fly EVA evergreen deluxe from SFO-BKK but last Sept airfare was high so I flew China airline economy class. Excellant flight. The flight from SFO-TPE was on a 747. From TPE-BKK on an new airbus much better than EVA. Same on the way back. For me EVA deluxe if the price is right but China economy is better than EVA economy. Food was fine.

I've flown with China Air before. Excellent service, attendants were great, food was good (except don't eat the pork dinner), flights were on time and a few times when I went coach. They said, I could move up to business class. I would recommend China Air.

CHINA AIR SUCKS!!!

The stewerdai were all snotty and wouldn't smile to save their asses!

The food was pure garbage &

The Low-Life asians that piled into economy were especially sickening.

the service is great, the only problem with china biz class is there is no flat bed..but what do you expect for the price??

 

I always fly china biz ams-bkk and have never had anything other than a great flight.

 

don`t know about cattle but china biz pisses on eva delux and it`s about a hundred quid more.

 

furthermore I believe skytrax rate CI as a four star airline which is good enough for me.
