New guy has a question

Recommended Posts

Hello to all...i just joined the forum and you guys have some great info as i am taking my 'cherry' voyage to SEA in november. Basically i am flying into BKK and i have a return flight from MNL...so i was going to buy a ticket between the two when i was in BKK and was looking at tiger air since it seemed like a good price. But now i am thinking hey since i am out here why not jump over to Cambodia for a couple of days. So i was looking and came up with this Fly air asia from BKK to phnom penh then PP to Kuala lumpur then from there to Clark...Now i have read that air asia is not the most prompt carrier so i would give myself plenty of time to reach my connecting flight, But the Fare for everything together was less than 200 USD which seems amazingly cheap...So i am looking for your opinions. I actually looked on expedia and you could fly royalthai to PP then PP to ho chi mai on vietnam air then to Manila, that was 596 USD. The problem is not too many carriers fly out of PP anywhere else than BKK...Also should i book the airasia now or just wait till i get to BKK...thanks

Welcome to the board wapo469. Like Tom said miss your flight your paying for another, be careful with booking the cheapr flights as they can end up costing more than regular carriers if you miss a flight. I'd wait until you get to Bangkok and then book your flights one leg at a time. You may decide to spend more time in one place, it happens frequently in SEA and you don't want to pay for a flight twice.

Old guy has answer!

I flew Air Asia PP to Bangkok and had a great punctual flight. Getting to the airport is another matter!

As others say, having 'connecting' flights with budget carriers is a risk, so why not stop off in each place for a day or two and look around!

With Air Asia, the sooner you book the better price you will get. And go directly to the budget airline websites, expedia aren't going to offer the best 'budget' deal.

I might recommend coming back to BKK though, as you are finding PP is limited choice-wise. Enjoy the adventure!
