first trip to pattaya (hotel question)

Recommended Posts

hey guys....

I'm taking my first trip to pattaya in December...

I've been reading the hotel reviews for the past couple of days...

(I've been to Angeles City, phils.. and I hear pattaya is AC on steriods.. :banghead )

I want to stay near the action, have a nice room, nice bathroom, wireless internet..

$30 - 50 a nite...

(don't really care much about a pool, I doubt I will be swimming much)

I have my choices down to :

Sunshine Hotel

Best beach

Whitehouse Condotel

Bella Villa Prima

Mercure Hotel

Just wanted some input from you guys, since you know the little details, then someone just reading and looking and the websites...

What you you suggest for a first timer..???

Thanks.. Romello

My first suggestion is to book a hotel fast, or else you won't get one. Hotels fill very quickly and you may find yourself caught out.

Of the hotels you listed, I have stayed in the Sunshine. This has an ideal location on soi8 and is very near the action, but make sure you get a room in the new wing. Can't really comment on the other hotels

I know its not on your list, but I strongly recommend you consider staying at the Sabaii Inn on Soi 2. Baht bus comes right to the front door, gogo on same street and a few beer bars. Thai restaurant directly across the street and close enough to walking street to get there in 5 minutes on bus, but without the noise and crowds. There is no pool (but you can use the one next door), but the rooms are very large, w/in room safe, tub/shower, etc.. All in all, a very nice place to stay and within your budget requirements. Do a search and check the reviews.

I definitely agree you should book NOW! High season sells out quickly in the better places. You might also consider the Areca Lodge (but watch out for that ridiculous mandatory gala fee). I'll be there at the same time. Maybe have a drink at FLB...

I just stay at Best beach 2 months ago, it's quality hotel open only some months ago, quiet near beach and bar of soi 2-3 and soi 6. Mercure is not on a great location. Shunshine is on busy soi.
