Does anyone have any tips on where to look for a good room or small apartment? I need a place for December and January. Something in the 7000 to 8000B/mo range, a/c, furnished, frig, hot water, TV would be great. Nothing fancy just clean, secure, fairly quiet, and in a decent, well maintained building with competent management. And, it must be guest friendly.

You can try Chokdee Inn on Soi Buakhao. Their rates are a bit higher than what you're looking for but not excessively so.
