Yes strange because if you put in advance dates (couple of months etc) flights again originate and terminate at Gatwick.

Maybe aircraft are out of service-slots being switched etc.

Another website states that Etihad are awaiting further delivery of aircraft hence temporary suspension of Gatwick-Abu Dhabi route

flights from gatwick are not available during xmas and they will take them off their website.

the planes from heathrow are A340 - 500 and gatwick's are 777's so maybe they have moved the

The cessation of the Gatwick service was announced along with the other changes to Etihad's summer schedule. They have increased their Heathrow service to double daily which should now connect with both the daily flights to/from Bangkok.

Etihad Airways is to increase the frequency of its flights between London Heathrow and Abu Dhabi from next month. From March 26, the Middle Eastern airline will operate 14 flights per week on the route, up from the current 12.

Flights will depart Heathrow at 1.05pm and 9.20pm, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 9.10pm and 7.30am (the following day), respectively.

On the way back, flights will leave the Gulf city at 2.55am and 1.05pm, touching down in London at 7.40am and 5.50pm.

However, as a result of this increased Heathrow service, Etihad's daily flights between Gatwick and Abu Dhabi will be suspended on the same day.

The changes are part of the carrier's plan to boost its global flying programme by 18 per cent this summer. A four-times weekly connection between Dublin and Abu Dhabi will begin in August.

Shaikh Ahmed Bin Saif Al Nayhan, Chairman of Etihad, also hinted that more new flights could be on the horizon.

"We're not going to stop here," he said. "We have more aircraft deliveries later this year and we're actively pursuing opportunities in the winter from Abu Dhabi to the Middle East, Europe and Asia."
