Today all flights are using the new aiport. It's planned that Don Muang will reopen 25th this month for some domestic airlines, Nok Air is one but several more, but no international flights.

List of new airport issues:

Many emergency exits blocked by stores - aim to fix this , but handy to know the duty free shop may be your exit. (nice people decided to cover the signs too).

Sides or runway, and taxiway not sealed against water(Better check all main building concrete was sealed - otherwise new airport will grow that black ugly concrete splotches like certain slums. New airport warranty period is only 1 year - about the same time rot concrete cancer starts. The runway cracking is going to be alleivaited by digging some draining ditches filled with aggregate.

Baggage claim section. The hallway seems 900 metres long - which carosel? Dont look for 5*4 meter signs like in Singapore or KL, but a few very big LCD television screens, spaced widely.

The good. Immigration was up to par on my encounter, unlike the 2 hour queues at certain land border crossing points.

Finally, You need to go downstairs to catch a regular taxi, and pay a 50bt premium. Please write your comments on the back of it before ride ends - like if you say no tollway, and the taxi driver uses both of them anyway.
