Anyone been to Ubon......whats it like...things to do.....places to see etc...

I have stayed in the city twice, and despite the fact that it is a big city, I didn't find much to do. If you have transport, I found the areas near the Mee Khong more interesting... Khong Chiam, the 2 colored river and Pha Taem national park.

Have visited Ubon the city. Spent a couple of days wandering around with my (then) TG who is from Mukdahan which is about 2 hours out of Ubon. Found Ubon interesting but not exactly exciting. We stayed at the Nevada Hotel which is located above the Rock Disco. Can highly recommend the Nevada and Rock. The Rock Disco was full of Uni students who are friendly and they like to practice their English with Falangs. Can also recommend a couple of days in Mukdahan which is located on the Mekong river on the Thai / Laos border - plan on returning to Mukdahan but will probably give Ubon a miss.

We stayed at the Nevada Hotel

That is where I stayed once and had someone pilfer something out what they pass off as a security box. (Looked like a school locker with a padlock on it)
