As I've mentioned elsewhere, I am now looking for a condo to buy. My intention is to buy one in my own name and in this respect, I am aware that I will need a tor tor 3 form to certify that the funds for the purchase came from outside Thailand.

It will be a bit over 2 months before I will be able to pay for any condo. I do, however, have funds readily available to put down a 10% deposit. Would using funds not covered by a tor tor 3 for a deposit cause any problems should I decide to sell the condo at some point in the future?

It have no plans to return to the UK to live so being unable to repatriate the amount of the deposit isn't a major issue.

Thanks,

Alan

I think that the rules on this changed but under the old rules the Tor Tor 3 was essential from your bank to prove that the funds came from outside Thailand and without one you could not buy a condo.

Earlier today. I sold the shares I needed to pay for my proposed purchase.

I decided to sell my lowest yielding investment, which I bought in 2 lots in April and May last year. Despite the recent falls in the market, I still made a nice profit of just under £7,000. :allright Just a pity that the other purchases I made last year haven't done so well!!!!! :finger

The funds will be credited to my account on Monday. I will then instruct the transfer of the funds to my Isle of Man account and in about 2 weeks, I will be able to transfer the funds to my Bangkok Bank account in 60 days time specifiying "purchase of condo" as the reason.

I hope to view some condos tomorrow with another viewing scheduled for Friday morning. That condo is an end unit on the same floor as I currently rent on. For an end unit the price is good, but I would prefer a higher floor and a lower price. :allright

Go get 'em tiger !

One thing that i found really useful if you plan to live in the condo is to see whether you can rent it for a month to test it out (neighbours / noise etc).

If you and the seller are both genuine, then it should be okay.It worked out well for me.

And of course make sure that it is owned in the name of a falang and not a Thai name to ensure that you are buying a place within the percentage allowed to be owned by falangs. Good luck but you should not need it.

I looked at the form FET form. I've read somewhere there's another form called Bai Rap Rong. For a cheaper condo under $20,000 U.S. Does anyone know about this form and have a copy of it?
