Recommended Posts

Greetings again.

I have a couple of photos which I have attempted to resize, they are thumb nail size and were sent to me via e-mail from Subic, my photos were erased by mistake? :thumbup

If you're trying to resize thumbnail sized photos to make them bigger, don't bother. They don't have enough resolution (pixels) to be resized so they look good. For example:

Here is a thumbnail resized to 800 by 600 from 150x113

rs1.jpg

And here is the same photo resized from about 3000px by 2000px to 800x600

Note that quality is decent going from very big to smaller, but from smaller to larger it is lost.

Martin, pics are pics but where can I find one of those steaks?

Now that is a very good question. :clap2

You can find them on Tues and Thurs at Uncle Charlie's Bar on Soi Honey (Soi 11 on Second Road). They are served from 6pm until they run out.

Martin,

I agree and have given up on using all the photo editing tools...so I requested my friends to resend larger photos which have more pixels...

I awaiting same so that I may put togather a decent trip report in the proper forum this time :clap2

Do they know how to cook one well done without carbonizing it?

I've never asked for well done. I suppose it's worth a try if you must have it that way. The cook is quite handy with the charcoal grill barbeque.

Hey Martin,

I guess I figured it out, :clap1 :clap1

I took a photo of the Japanese bar staff while in okinawa, attached it directly to my ships PC, and used microsofts office picture manager to resize it the second time around, and it seems as if this photograher wanna be finally got it right :clap1 :clap1

Now when I arrive in May, I'll be prepared to really cut loose with some great photo sessions with the thai young ladies :D

You need to do two more things.

When you work on the photo, work on it as a JPG type of photo, not a BMP. There is a very big size (bulk) difference. Usually, photos come out of a camera as JPG format. If not any decent photo software can quickly convert it, as I did for what I posted below. My picture is about 30% bigger in yours in dimensions, but only about 15 per cent of the bulk (and thus time spent waiting for it to show on screen).

Resize it so the biggest size is a max of 800 pixels. This one is a little small, although I bumped it up to 600.

Then the second thing, put the photo (or photos) into your post. When you write a message, scroll down and you'll see instructions to "add this attachment". Put in there where the picture is on your computer, or find it by clicking Browse.

Play with the system here a bit, you'll soon get the hang of it and be posting like the (much appreciated) pros do it.
