Could be, but it also suits the Irish coming accross as well, due to the connection times. I know Eithad fly from Dublin but for us Northerners its a long way down and also the value of the pound against the euro at the minute its another reason. I know I have done it this way quite a few times. Eithad also offer quite often extra air miles bonuses like double and triple !

Just flew back on Emirates on EK385, BKK to Dubai at 1.30 in the morning on 2nd October.

Use this flight a lot, never seen it so empty, maybe about 30% payload at best. Loads of rows available for stretching out on. :D

Then flew Dubai to Birmingham this had a slightly higher payload but still well short of 50% I think.

With the payloads so low will there be a price cut coming, or will they just start axing some flights ?

Best Regards

The Muslims would all be heading in the opposite direction towards BKK at the start of Eid.

Ye that might be the reason Tom.

Come to think of it Dubai Airport was quieter than normal as well. Only 10,000 sleeping on the floor this time. :D
