Me: 1155 is the emergency response number but it doesn't seem to work on my phone. Am I retarded?

Freddy: Only slightly. The number does not work at all. You must dial the office numbers.

M: That sucks. Is the office number 24 hours & bilingual?

F: OK maybe you are retarded.

M: So what can I do if I have a problem?

F: Noon until midnight, there are foreign volunteers at the soi 9 police station and also on Walking St until 3am.

M: What if I cannot get out of my room for whatever reason and I need a visit?

F: You can call the office or myself (I live in Jomtien) or Kevin who voluntarily is on call 24 hours a day and really enjoys getting involved to help people and to bust corrupt Thai police.

M: Thank you very much. How long have you been in Thailand?

F: 11 years and 5 as a FPV.

M: What kind of problems should I contact you for?

F: Anything you want 24 hours/day. If not me, it will be Kevin responding.

M: Most common problems?

F: Bill padding (Airport Gogo), girls feeling underpaid or not paid at all/claims of being assaulted, damaged property, fights.

M: Best advice?

F: Always make a police report so you have some proof and if you want to breakup with a TG, do it somewhere public.

Thanks for the numbers, I've happily had 1155 on my speed dial for years now. Never had to use it but it was good to know it was there. Just as well I didn't need it if it's gone.
