Pattaya bay resort v Sabai resort

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to book in may for 28 days, but i'm in a dilemma which hotel to choose.I've stayed at Sabai resort before but never at pattaya bay resort.

A big part of my holiday is hanging round the pool area, sunbathing,& swimming, listening to music,

chilling out ect.But the location lets it down a bit.

Not too bothered about the price.

For those interested,Sabai resort Deluxe garden room=1550.00 baht discounted 200 baht from last february.

Pattaya bay resort =1600 baht Deluxe room, stay 6 nights get one night free.(low season offer )

Makes the Sabai resort about £100.00 more but as i say not to botherd about that.

So has anyone stayed at the pattaya bay resort ? your views ,comment would be helpful

Or has anyone stayed at both hotels ?

Cheers Steve

surry,

I have never stayed at Sabai Resort before, but have stayed at the Pattaya Bay Resort serveral times and will be spending an other week there in April.

I have always enjoyed my stay there in the past. Roof top pool, just outside the resturant. Good WiFi through out the hotel. Good staff and very helpful. Free breakfast for two. Have a Tuk Tuk that can get you to a few areas on 2nd Road. Also a baht type truck that can provide close by drop offs.

Its a little off the beaten path, but not a bad walk through the Avenue's Mall on 2nd Road.

Hope this helps a little,

Also read in PBR's website that reservation does not need the use of a credit card. If the deluxe room during low season has got an offer, then i think it should be of good value.

Never have stayed though.

In May you should have a choice to stay anywhere you want as its the start of low season.

Maybe just book the Sabai for a few days then go around to some other places and have a look? Easy enough to extend. The Eastiny Group hotels all have decent sized pools for instance.

I concur but disagree with location assessment-it's less than a block of 2nd Rd. and a very central location.Rooftop pool is great as is breakfast that is included form a wide selection of choices, both Western and Thai.

I've stayed at both and would choose the Sabai Resort for it's pool. The rooftop pool at the PBR is tiny and there's little space to relax. You won't appreciate it if any of the other guests are loud or like to create a splash!

PBR was at the top of my list. A couple of things swayed me to look elsewhere (I never confirmed directly with the hotel so maybe somebody can confirm this) First was a joiner fee for more than one girl and second was the website said a 500 baht per night deposit which seemed excessive to me.

I eventually booked a condo. I can take a harem back if I want

Yes thats true wet willie,up to a maximum of 3000 baht on check in.

The remaining balance to be paid on checking out

When I stayed there in November I had one of their monthly deals - had to pay the full amount up front + 10,000 Baht deposit. They took whatever spending I did there, water & electricity (not included on monthly deals) + my taxis to and from the airport from the deposit and I got the balance back when I checked out.

I wasn’t too keen on paying all that up front, but it was all handled professionally, all computer recorded & itemised, and no arguments about anything. I couldn’t have wished for better.

Didn’t seem like Thailand at all. :finger

I visited 3 times since June prior to moving here and was not charged the 500 baht fee.

Although I have not stayed at the Sabai Resort I have stayed at the Sabai Lodge and the Pattaya Bay Resort. My preference would be for the Sabai hotels because whilst the rooms at PBR are more modern and everything is adequate the pools at the Sabai Lodge win it for me. The pools (particularly the Ruen Thai pool) at the Sabai Lodge manage to convey the illusion that you are not in the middle of a large urban area, unfortunately the rooftop pool at the PBR cannot give the same feelings as you look down on buildings everywhere and the size of the pool is a little small.

The rooms and bathrooms at the PBR are more modern than all the Sabai ones I’ve seen, but that said they Sabai rooms are larger.

I really have no complaints about my stay at the PBR but simply the Sabai Lodge manages to make you think you are in the tropics on a beach holiday rather than a city break.

Hope this helps
