A few European carriers fly on from Bangkok to Vietnam.

Air France for Hanoi and Saigon 3500 baht+

Bangkok Airways(SGN)..6300+

Lufthansa (SGN) 5500+

Thai....(HAN and SGN) 2800 baht+... that's over, now 5500

And of course Vietnam Airways..3900 and 4900.

Air France to Ho Chi Minh - 2,500 B.

Air France to Hanoi - 2,900 B.

Vietnam Airlines to Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi - 2,900 B.

Thai Airways to Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi - 4,800 B.

I would have thought that Air Asia was the obvious choice. Cheap as chips and they fly to both Saigon and Hanoi. Best to decide if you are basing yourself in Saigon or Hanoi .......... they're not exactly next door to each other.

 

Both destinations are typically around 2,500 Baht return - cheaper during promotions.
