New hotel coming but we need to know what you guys value most

Recommended Posts

One of the best points was voiced by Jacko....A good booking service. I've read so many posts about hotels not answering emails, people turning up to find they've no reservation logged etc.

Yes, we fully understand.

The ideal at this point in development will be live and guaranteed online bookings. We are looking at both managing this in house and also contracting it out to a specialist provider and no final decision will be taken for a while, leaving us ample time to take on board any suggestions and comments from prospective guests.

I am actually very glad you brought this up as the process is not as easy as one would imagine. The real problems stem from people booking and not turning up. The size of the business does not allow for people to leave us with unsold rooms at the height of season, when they book but fail to turn up, without some form of compensation and yet, guests outside the top end hotels are reluctant to guarantee rooms with their credit card details. I am open to suggestions here but I would also like people to be able to book online and move on from the email and telephone booking system.

Whatever system we end up with will be well thought out and the staff we employ will be competent enough to manage the booking system. We will certainly not be working with a notebook and pencil !

Please add your comments on how to give you the best booking service.

Basket of goodies. A time share the folks own does this, but with food. They are self contained units. You can buy them at reception. Something like a few cold beers, mixers (for the duty free) some peanuts, 100 baht worth of 5, 10, and 20 baht coins, water, small soap, little shampoo, 2 toothbrushes and tooth paste, a razor, cheese and crackers, tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc (assuming a kettle is available), some packet noodles, a few pieces of fresh fruit etc.

Every single one of the items you mention has then to be accounted for and invoiced , stock takes done etc etc. More expense.

OP,

Do you have any pics, drawings, floor plans etc of the project (or concept), or is it a piece of schoolwork that you're undertaking?
