Barrel Barbecue to buy in Pattaya.

Recommended Posts

Not sure if I am posting this in the right section but he we go.

Can anybody point me in the right direction of where I could possibly pick up a converted barrel barbecue in Pattaya. Must be charcoal burning not gas. Have tried those small terracota ones that the Thais use but want to get something a bit more substantial for the garden. Whether pre fabricated or made to order by a metal working establishment. I would be interested in tracking one down.

thanks for any help.

Try any Thai hardware shop, they all sell they in small and large sizes. Examples are on corner of 3rd road and soi lengkee, Pattaya Klang between 2nd and 3rd roads and many on Siam Country club, Soi Koi Noi & Soi Koatalo.

IMHO you can get a proper one that wont rust for between 1500 and 3000 baht from one of the DIY stores. Home Pro etc. The Thia ones rust quickly.

Assuming it's still there, there was a shop selling half barrel BBQ'S somewhere between Pattaya North road and Pattaya Klang on the south bound side of the highway and heading back in the Sattahip direction.

The Ooosah bar on Soi Khaotalo which is now closed had a barrel BBQ purchased from that same store and used to do BBQ nights catering for all and sundry on one.

Turn into Soi Siam Country Club road off Sukhumvit, cross over the railway line and on the right just after the corner is a 'sell everything made of plastic and other crap' type shop where I bought one of these chopped oil barrel BBQs.

I bought a large one from Home Pro next to Carrefour a couple of years ago. It was exactly the same model as this in the UK http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3450389.htm

Paid about Bt3000 I think. Not bad, good and large enough with top shelf. Just take time to foil it out first and find something to cover it when left outside. I got a few strong bin liners and taped them together.

Here is an online catalogue I found http://www.homepro.co.th/images/promotions...ng_2/index.html See p13
