Clicking on link doesn't work

Recommended Posts

Whenever I click on a link under "Latest News" on the left hand side in the Pattaya Daily News website nothing happens. It just refreshes to the same page. Similarly, when I click on a link to Pattaya Daily News from Pattayatalk, I get that same home page and cannot get any further. Can anybody advise me what's wrong, and how I might correct it. I have no problems clicking on links on any other websites. I am running Firefox.

The Pattaya Daily News home page, when I view it, has an awful lot of links. The home page IS the latest news collection, then you click on a story that interests you, -- usually a blue headline.

I just gave that a go under Firefox and it worked fine.

I did a have some issues with Pattaya Daily News and Firefox and it seemed to stem from my Adblock Plus. I disabled some filters and things improved.

Thanks to Joekicker and Jacko. I just clicked on a link on the left hand side "Intoxicated Russian tourist beaten uncon..." and it took me to another page where the same link was under "Hot News". I then clicked on that link again and the page just refreshed and the link didn't work. I AM running AdBlock Plus so maybe that has something to do with my problem. Can Jacko or somebody please advise me how I might correct the problem. Step by step please as I'm not familiar with the AdBlock program(me) (if you're English!).

Now I just had another problem. On posting this reply I clicked on "Add Reply" and I was taken to the Forum homepage. My post hasn't been activated. I've just disabled AdBlock Plus for this website and re-typed my post. So here goes, I'm clicking on "Post Reply" now.......

Well, that worked, so I seem to have a problem with AdBlock Plus. Anyone?

Now...further to the above, I thought that if I can disable AdBlock Plus on Pattayatalk, I can disable it on Pattayadailynews, so I did and it's sorted the problem. Please disregard all the above, gentlemen. Many thanks to Jacko for suggesting AdBlock Plus might have been the problem. I'm now a happy monger!

I too am having problems posting. In that first time I hit Add Reply, I am taken back to the forum summary, post has not been entered. I use the back button, hit Add Reply again, and it seems to always work 2nd time. Editing a post is no problem. Didn't think to associate that with Adblock Plus. Thank YOU! Edited by jacko

I wonder if AdBlock Plus has changed in some way recently. I have had similar issues with Thaivisa.com also. Now I use AdBlock Plus on these sites but will have to disable it when posting. Also when forwarding an email I hit the "Forward" button and a blank screen appears which makes me think that I am about to forward NOTHING. Maybe the answer is to disable AdBlock Plus on my email temporarily. This all then begs the question "Is there another good Ad blocking tool?".

Oh Boy! I just disabled AdBlock Plus to post this reply, hit the "Submit" button and was taken to the Forum homepage again. My post did not get posted. As per you Jacko, I hit the back button, clicked on "Submit" again and it was posted. WTF!

I've now uninstalled AdBlock Plus and am still having the same problem...when I submit a post I get taken to the home page and I have to click on the back button and submit again. This is also happening on Thaivisa.com. Anybody got any ideas?

Interesting about AdBlock. I'll have to try the site with Firefox, I use a different browser for this work, and haven't noticed an Adblock problem on the sites I use Firefox for.

Which reminds me, AdBlock now is available for Google Chrome browser, too.

Yes I am having the problem again with Adblock disabled, might as well re-enable it for this site.

My Pattaya Daily News seems to work OK and I have @@|http://www.pattayadailynews.com/openx/www/delivery/* as an exception.

If you solve the posting problem, I would appreciate a post/PM as I have once or twice typed something out and then lost it.

(Just happened here again........)

Yep, I reinstalled AdBlock Plus last night. Haven't posted until now so let's see what happens when I click on "Add Reply".

Well, it worked just fine!
