GF friendly?

Yes it is. It's owned by Bill Jones and his wife and he lives at the hotel. The management is his daughter and her friends who are twin brothers. They were all educated in the USA and speak English.

If you stay there get to know BJ, he has a lot of great Pattaya stories covering the last 40 years.

Wonder how it isn't mentioned much on the forums.

Guest The Real Parkwahn

Its a nice tidy place, walk down the end of the Soi to beach road for a baht bus.

I think the pool is saltwater, I say I think my mate stayed there I visited its nice I would not have a problem recomending from what I saw he stayed there 3 times.

As said noce and quiet at night, yo can get a baht bus along second road to Soi 3 so the most you ever have to walk is a 200 yards, laundrys near Big C its a 5 min walk to soi 6.

Well worth a go IMHO

I have tried to book twice in 2 years. GF confirmed but it is popular and I couldn't get in. But both times I had a response from Bill within 24 hours and for that reason I will try again next time.

Hi lads,

Anybody stayed at BJ Holiday Lodge,it looks good and room rate seems ok too.

http://www.bjpattaya.com/02_room.htm#

Stayed last three days of Sept 2008. Would not budge on higher rate starting Oct 1st. Moved to another similiar hotel that was 300 baht cheaper. Was nice enough hotel. No problem bringing in a girl or outside food. Didn't try pool, looked nice enough, got a lot of sun then, new hotel next door may spoil sun at pool now. I'd stay there again for the low season rate.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi Cicero,

I stayed there for 2 weeks in Feb this year. Rooms are plain but clean. Open shower in bathroom means toilet gets wet every shower, but what the hell. Girl friendly (no joiner fee) but girls will need ID to stay and they will charge a fee if you bring in 2+ girls (I think 200baht....it wasn't charged on the night but at the end of my stay, I think I was pissed that night. But I did ask for, and was supplied with extra towels, so ok in my books). Pool is ok, but overshadowed by next door hotel, so not much sun. Didn't bother me, I couldn't give a shit about a tan. Pool is normal chlorine pool (or my nose is so fucked up it seemed that way :-)

Restaurant is OK, el cheapo AB breakfast at 60 baht...

Staff are excellent and helpfull. I felt vey comfortable.

Morning breakfast crew was about 80% mongers with a few buying their girls a breakfast, and 20% 'normal' couple tourists (which seem to be on the rise in patts).

Wifi only works on ground floor (ie in the restaurant), not in the rooms.

Noise from outside hotel non existant...sound proofing between rooms seemed ok to me...I was either drunk, or tired, or girled up so that noise did not raise itself.

I have been to patts 7 times over 15 years (not much compared to the keyboard warriors on this site :-) staying at Bayshore L.ek etc, it ticked all the boxes for me.

I have booked at BJ's for 3 months in July...

The whole other issue about soi 3?

I like this end of town, quiet beerbars and a pleasant 10 baht ride to walking street. Big C shopping centre a few mins away. Short walk to soi 6...

In fact that is my shtick....sleep in late, brekkie at restaurant, or better coffee at Big C, play in soi 6, lunch at Queen Vic, nap, arvo beer bars around soi 3, of to walking street about 10pm......drag a victim back to soi about 2am.. play pool or whatever, off to room and attempt sex (!) release victim and start again.

Gottaloveit.

Regards

SSS
