  1. My brother stayed in The Golf Club and he couldn't hear a thing from outside. He was on the side where Devils Den is.My mate stays in Blue Moon which is above Kiss a gogo and he said it isn't a problem and he is not an all nighter and just turned 70.
  2. Porte is waiting but the alps might get him.
  3. Be a few missing today as a result of the pileup yesterday. Might just be too many riders in in the race. Perhaps tinker with having only 6 a team riding and keeping sprinters and mountain climbers for specific stages.
  4. Went yesterday. Some lovely young asians. Not so lovely white ones. Easy to get around. If you live on the Darkside good. If in Patts hitting Sukumvit at peak hour is torture. Beer is 80 baht a can. Sandwich 70 baht, hot dog 50 baht. 300 baht to get in. Shuttle bus from car park. Bit of a walk still. Crowds were well behaved and fortunately i did not hear one loud mouth fucking idiot septic yell "In the hole" after someone tees off on a par 5. And Michelle Wie would be taken for a ladyboy on WS. Only because she is a giraffe.
  5. April suites also has a sauna. I liked it but the TGF was not overwhelmed.
  6. Sunview on Soi Bukhao has adjoining rooms for 2000 baht. Only a short baht bus ride away from LK .
  7. Boycott made one century for England. The rest he made for himself. They had to send Botham in to run him out to try and win a game. To his credit though he had Lillian Thomson and the Windies pace attack to handle. But he he is amusing to listen to.
  8. Maybe western countries should realise than single retired men, many former Service or merchant marines, don't have the means to retire at home. They have pensions etc but many don't have a home in their home countries and family system has broken down. Let them spend their retirements where it is warmer, rent is way cheaper and so is food and beer. It would be far cheaper to allow them to migrate to SE Asia and subsidise the local government to medically look after them (within reason), And allow superannuation and pension funds to pay into foreign banks. Malaysia has opened its doors to reti
  9. Have a look at Soi Bongkot now. Looks like a bomb crater. Put new drains in but have left all the rubble. No one has slowed down. Sand all over the road.
  10. Did it last year and could only get second class. We flew back. Not what I would call a great adventure. Bloody thing was hours late getting in . If I could have got first class maybe different though.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/embed/5RAaW_1FzYg?autoplay=1&modestbranding=1&rel=0&showinfo=0 No wonder the Russians are ambivalent to road traffic here
  12. I would be looking at renting a villa. But the attraction of sharing rooms seems lost on most here. Sunview has adjoining rooms so that may appeal and a baht bus to WS or hit the bars around there which are not busy but have plenty of pool tables and girls doing nothing. And an easy walk to LK Metro
  13. Bullshit. My TGF has a fulltime job and she doesn't wear Army boots, and neither does her mother.
