Desktop display on start up

Recommended Posts

Perhaps once every 20 to 30 times I start up my PC the desktop display changes and omits part of the picture and several desk top icons including the task bar with the start button on.

I then have to switch the computer off and start it again which cures the problem.

I am not very PC savvy but it as though it is displaying the desktop in different size pixels to which it usually does, is it a graphic card problem, something simple or just one of those things that you get with computers?

TIA

Maybe. You could try reinstalling the card's driver.

Sometimes Windows will hang on startup. Do you have enough RAM, CPU, power supply for what you are running? Have reliable antivirus running?

When this occurs, you should try to change the resolution and see if that's possible.

But it is indeed very odd that it happens that rarely.
