Well I'm off back to work at the end of June after a 2 month sabbatical........ got meself a brand spanking new Drillship in Korea to kit out so I'm throwing a "I'm off outa here" bash this coming Friday at the Ace.

 

Also the Mango has been hinting at doing summat in Jomtien to try to persuade some of you Pattaya-ites to get your arses over to Jomtien for a piss-up as it's been bloody yonks since that's been done so we're joining forces and putting on a combined piss-fest........ there will be a free snack buffet, free draught beer (till it runs out) and all bottled beer will be only 50 baht, all night. And ice fuckin' cold too! Women? Yep, there will be women! Loose women, bawdy women, sexy women.............. available women! Bar fines will be 300 baht and the wenches will be bar-fineable after 10pm. (Please note that the Ace staff, which includes my missus, are not bar fineable. Neither will my gf be. It will not take a genius to work out who is staff and who is available.)

 

There may be an "unplugged" jam session........ Bruce has promised to bring his Jew's Harp so we're looking for strummers, thrummers and warblers........ do you fit the bill?

 

Everything should kick off around dusk....... I really hope you'll try to make the effort to find Jomtien and come enjoy yourself........ you will be sure to meet some old friends and make some new....... hell, I'll even get you your first beer......... s'long as it's draught! :(

Sorry, maybe didn't make it clear. My post was nothing whatsoever to do with who is fair game or not. My missus is my partner in Ace Cafe, she manages the place and as such will be at work all night, so cannot be bar fined. What she does after we close is entirely up to her.

Didn't get there while late , due to a accident had occured on the motorway so big tail backs . Yeh still don't like cameras . I didn't know you had been gimped . What was that for ?

Humiliating Pastry over and over again, Bigleg seems to have put some weight on looking at them photos!!!!! You staying in Thailand now and given up moaning about the exchange rate then?????

Exchange rate don't matter to me at the moment . I just decided that fook it I won't bring any money in . I just use the money I got in at 70bt-GBP . Just leave the rest to mount up in the UK untill such time as I decide the rate is right.

I am willing to wait for it to get back to the 65 mark .If it dosen't then my money will not move .

You'll never see 65 again unless there are some major unforseen circumstances, doubt you'll even see 55 again, so a bit pointless having all your money stashed away if you're never going to spend it, get used to 45-50 being the new 'normal' rate. Although i'll probably end back up in Thailand and after best part of 10 years living there and now back in England for 18 months and enjoying it not sure at the moment if i actually fancy living in the developing world again for a long period of time, might have to start looking at various places in Europe as an alternative, Greece, Spain, Portugal or Cyprus maybe.

The only place to get value for the GBP is in the UK . I really don't need to use the money . However i would prob use more if the rate went up . I will not pay the ridiculous prices for some things here . Maybe I should start another Flora or coke light thread . 208bt for a tub of flora the other day .Spuds up to 58bt a kilo .
